All I can say is this stuff is A.MA.ZING! How could I have gone over 30 years of my life and not discover the awesomeness that is Gatsby Wax!? Honestly now, I have been a huge fan of extreme hold gel products in the past. My biggest complaint with those products is they did very poorly with my hair once it got over 2" in length, not to mention I dealt with that crispy wet look all day. Over time I started to get fed up with crispy crunchy hair, I needed something that allowed me to style my hair firmly but allow it to look natural and not forced. I found this stuff and boy have I become a believer!I am a white guy from the suburbs, and generally keep my hair groomed very short (no longer than 3" before I get it cut). I generally have it laying forward with some spiking of the bangs into a bit of a faux hawk. I'm Russian in origin and my hair is dark brown, thick, and can get wavy the longer it goes. Gel has always been a struggle for me trying to find the right kind. I ultimately ended up using Style Sexy Hair as it was the only thing that would hold strong enough, with the unappealing side affect of super crispiness and that "wet" look all day. I can attest that this product out performs every gel I have ever tried. This product was my go-to back when I had shorter hair. I used to style my hair in a short to medium-length fauxhawk and nothing else I have used did the job as well as Gatsby did. I had tried numerous other products from your standard hair aisle at the store, ranging from gels, clays, pastes, and other types of waxes, but Gatsby's hold is far superior. It's easy enough to go into the hair and style when damp, but also gives you enough hold when it dries to last you nearly the entire day, with only minimal re-styling throughout. It is a bit on the stickier side and will leave a good amount of residue that will take a few washes to get out unless you are shampooing every day (which you shouldn't be). It also has a light, fruity scent that is pleasant to the nose, but not overbearing.An added bonus is that the size is just under 3 ounces, meaning that you're able to bring it in your carry-on without any problems while flying! One 3 ounce container usually lasted me around 2-3 months, depending on usage. At such a low price, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better product than this.

I'm not Asian but I basically have as close to Asian hair as you can get while being white. I'm talking super dark, thick, and straight. Most hair products just don't hold my hair very well or very long. This stuff does the trick!. I do have to use more product than the average person but it holds all day. I've been using it for probably 3+ years and switched from Axe Messy Look because their stuff was just too oily for me. This stuff is pretty matte too. The more you use, the more shine it will have but its really not that bad.This stuff seems pretty water soluble so I get the best results when my hair is mostly dry. Then its pretty easy to wash out and get off your hands.Smells like strawberries too!

Been using the product for a couple of years and works as advertised. Not that big of a fan on the scent change, but overall, it is still a good product.

My husband and young son love this product. They have thick hair, and lots of it. This really holds their style in place. I can spike my son's hair, and it will hold for hours. I like to dampen my hands before taking a small amount (about the size of a dime), rubbing through my hands, and then running my hands through his hair. I kind of work it around and once I have it where I want it, I grab a little more product and run through the ends.I have to wash my hands a couple times afterward because they get sticky, but once the product dries on the hair it's not sticky at all; it has more of a matte finish, not shiny. It washes out really well with normal shampoo.We previously bought the Wild Shake by Gatsby (purple jar), and while that's a great product too, it doesn't hold as well as Spiky Edge.The Gatsby products are so much better than the products you buy in the store.

Sure it has hold, as do other products. It has no color! Because it is offered in multiple colors and I have seen colors on You tube videos, I expected to have some fun. I might as well used chemical Dippity Do. There is no color. Yes, it smells.

I have been using this for years after trying different kinds of products and it was a great find but it seems they changed the formula. The scent has a more chemical odor than the usual green apple scent. The hold is slightly weaker than what I remember and it leaves my hair slightly greasy.I have short finicky hair and some strands that used to be tamed by the old formula now stick out. I would style my bangs up and some strands would fall onto my forehead by the end of the day.Maybe I just got a bad batch this time around. Don't get me wrong, it still holds pretty well compared to other products and overall it's a good product but it's not how I remember when I first tried it. Again, these are just my personal results so the formula change might be better for other people.Unfortunately, I may have to go back to searching for something else after I use up my current container.

This stuff is great. I think this is maybe the 10th or so time I've purchased it. It doesn't flake, doesn't take a lot to style with, and you can restyle or adjust throughout the day pretty easily. I don't have much to compare it to because this is the first product of it's kind that I've tried and I've only had great success with it.

Gives hair a Matt finish but it’s to Matt and makes your hair dry but the hold is good go for it if you Have oily scalp you I’ll face no problem
