USS New York LPD-21 Navy dock landing ship 1/350 USA [Japan Import] Toy

I purchased this model from Monochrome because it was being sold for nearly half the price of other manufacturers models and other dealers. I had done my home work and read all of the work bench product reviews which gave the product great reviews. I got a great deal! I am still working on this model and I must say that I have not been disappointed. The molding is crisp and finely detailed with very little flash. The water deck has amazing detail up to a point but lacks PE railing, bollards, fire hose reels and a few other details including lights which I added to my model. The reason that I gave the model 4 stars is that all of the windows on this ship are solid plastic - none are clear. Blue plastic windows look horrible on a grand model this large scale. I cut as many out as I could and replaced with clear acrylic plastic. What a difference it makes.
