As far as I can tell it is made of stainless steel. I exposed it to water for 24 hours with no signs of rust. It is magnetic but stainless steel that is used in knives and other cutting utensils are also magnetic.

Fine for practice.
Worked well for practice. Not for surgical use, of course! The sizes were difficult to understand but I guessed right at least. Overall? Nothing to really complain about but wouldn't recommend.
