Good Quality Inflatable Kayak for the Price Point; early on but no major issues
So far taken for one trip on calm/flat pond. cannot speak to performance in white water but does have a drain feature that would allow water to pass during rapid movement. Great performance, easy to inflate with provided foot pump (~5-10 min setup). Nice quality fabric and materials, but still very light and easy to move around with one person. 4 handles to grab, one at each end and then two on the sides. went over a rock a few inches below the waterline and scratched the hull, but did not puncture the bottom. 3 separate chambers so felt comfortable would stay afloat if the bottom leaked. My wife and I are both under 5'9, so we fit OK in two person tandem config. person in back had to sit with knees up or cross leg, person in front can stretch legs. If you were a couple of 6'+ people, this would be a very tight fit and not recommended for 2. one person would be fine regardless. weight wise we are under the 400 lb recommended weight max, so no issues with poor buoyancy. critical when setting up seats, if done incorrect the seats will fall back under weight (as mentioned in other reviews) as the zipper mechanism to convert the seat from flat/fold into a "L" are just to hold the position and can't support weight. each seat has 4 anchor straps which hook into the kayak. Two on top along the middle of your back, two on bottom along the base of the seat. the two on top MUST be hooked into anchor points in front of the seat and tightened to desired "lean back" angle. two on the bottom should be anchored behind to keep seat from sliding forward. there is Velcro on the bottom of the seat and the floor of the kayak, but i can't imagine that will last over time. One negative, the anchor point did poke a bit into the side, may be how / where I anchored the seats. Seat configuration is adjustable. tear-down/pack was quick, almost instant deflate once the valves were opened. a little tricky getting it back in the bag but not impossible figure it out. long term concerns, the values holding up over time. really neat screw mechanism, but very thin layer of rubber. imagine these will wear and then not sure how long it will stay inflated :) hence the 4 star on durability.

Great kayak. The shipping price went up after it was shipped!
Great kayak and easy to use. They raised the shipping cost after it was shipped!

Fun, sturdy boat with useless seats.
Economical and fun boat for ponds and small lakes once you obtain and figure out how to adapt a decent kayak seat. Unfortunately, the seats provided with the boat are a joke.

This is a good kayak !!!!
This is my first inflatable kayak, and is a great buy. It is easy and quick to setup if you have a good pump. it tracks way better than I was expecting, as good as my mid range hard kayak. You do have to work a little harder when going against the wind but still tracked great and wasn't blown around, but I wouldn't use in strong winds on a flat lake. The build quality is real good! has a heavy duty nylon over the top half that gives it a quality feel, and offers a good deal of protection from anything that might puncture it (not sure i would any fish hooks around it though). The toughness of the bottom is adequate. The seats are good and provide decent support, they have 2 bottle holders each and a small pouch to hold whatever. I needed to tightened the straps on occasion to keep the back support firm but the straps for the seat are easy to access so this was not a issue for me. I am over 6ft tall and with both seats in I can fully extend my legs in the front, in the back seat I have to sit with bent knees or cross legged. I was still comfortable but a long trip would leave me needing to stretch my legs out. With a single seat there is plenty of room to pack lots of gear. I would not hesitate to take this on a down river camping trip or battle a few rapids. It has a couple of tie down spots to secure any gear you have. The only real down side I can say is the nylon does not dry quickly and you don't want to pack it up wet and leave it. so expect extra time before you pack it up, or unfold it when you get home to let it dry out.

Seats bad design.
Have only used once so far. Seats a disaster. Back of seats collapse leaving you no back support. Poor design. Seat cushion and back connected with zipper that zips on both sides toward front but have absolutely no catch to hold them in place so unzip immediately giving zero back support. Was sitting in water entire time in back of tahiti. Otherwise great. haha

A very nice, dog friendly inflatable kayak.
This is my 5th inflatable kayak. I bought it as a backup, in case my bigger whitewater kayak goes down. I wanted something that could handle at least mild rapids and accommodate a very intense 50 lb Blue Heeler dog. I was impressed with this one. It is quite durable, lots of carry handles and D-rings (not all inflatables have this many), tough floor for dog claws, tough bottom for hitting rocks. It handles quite well with the skeg installed. I am very petite and 67 yrs old, and I can handle this one alone. Seats are quite movable, good for weight distribution. I have recommended this to my paddling group and 5 other people have bought it. No complaints.

So good, we will sell our molded Kayaks!
Enjoyed these much! Went on an all day trip and everyone was comfortable and less sore then we normally are with our molded kayaks. Theses Solstice Kayak's performed so well and made transport so easy, we will be selling our molded kayaks ASAP.

Durango fail
I initially bought my first Durango and used it about 4 times with no issues. Always using the pump gauge to inflate to exact pressures. The first thing to fail was the seat seams. Started to separate at the top. Both did this right away. They also would bend and not support anyone using them. Terrible seats. Bought aftermarket seats and problem solved. Then after my 4 uses, the side seams where the materials meet started to tear. Eventually all the way down the middle of the side. Called Solstice and they sent a new one to me. Took out 2 times and the seams split again. I even used a different pump and gauge from the new one. I also tried to inflate less and then it would bend and sag in the middle. Called them back immediately and wanted my money back. They suggested I buy the Flare 1 instead. It was twice the price of the Durango, but they knocked a $100 bucks off for a difference of $150. I have had the Flare since for about 3 years with almost no issues except a tiny hole from rubbing that I patched. And yes, the seat was also crappy again. Bottom line is that the cover material and workmanship is very low quality on the Durango. Not sure how anyone on here can say it’s tough or durable. Also, it’s a pain to get dry. Maybe this leads to thread failure and material erosion. But it was always kept indoors and dried out before packing again. Beware!

Easy to inflate
Awesome looking kayak. Inflates in 5 minutes. I can’t wait to use it in the summer. Carrying bag is quite good, nothing fancy.

I’m very happy with kayak!
After one season I can say it is well made and paddles better then Seyvalor Colorado because it is narrower (could be a tight fit for some) and has a skeg which really helps steering. Construction and material is good and compares well to Seyvalor . The seats do have a zipper issue but adding a string to tie of the zipper will stop unzipping (worked well all year).
