desertcart.com: The Seventh Sense: The Secrets of Remote Viewing as Told by a "Psychic Spy" for the U.S. Military: 9780743462686: Buchanan, Lyn: Books Review: Really interesting and educational! If considering RV, read this first. - What a great overall view of remote viewing. The history, how it works, and more importantly the limitations of RV. Can you learn to do remote viewing using this book. Well, technically I'd have to say yes. There is more than enough information, especially in the appendix, to learn how. The book wasn't written to teach you but it gives you all you need plus some. IMO you should read this book first before you decide to devote the time and effort to develop an RV skill. Which, by the way, apparently anyone can do. Then after this book you might look at "Boundless" by Lori Williams. My impression from reading this book is that learning how to do remote viewing is harder that learning to play a musical instrument but then of more practical use too. The stories in the book were very interesting and enlighting. Review: Great read and very helpful to getting more understanding of the principles of Remote Viewing - This is a fun read and very provides more understanding of how to Remote View. I've successfully used David Morehouse's book "Remote Viewing" to follow his step-by-step instructions on to how to Remote View. Yes, it works (see my review of that book). Buchanan's "The Seventh Sense" isn't a step-by-step manual and won't teach you how to Remote View. But Buchanan explains the principles of Remote Viewing in depth and also lays out exercises in the Appendix that I've started doing to improve my Remote Viewing. "The Seventh Sense" is a good complement to David Morehouse's book or to other step-by-step lessons. If you're just curious about Remote Viewing, "The Seventh Sense" is the perfect book. It's a very enjoyable page-turner and really lays out anything on the subject of Remote Viewing that you might be curious about. For such a "woo-woo" subject, it just seems very matter-of-fact and common sense. In my review of David Morehouse's "Remote Viewing" book, I listed some other resources that I've found helpful for learning Remote Viewing.

Well-Written, Fascinating, A Real Page-Turner
I've seen Lyn Buchanan on Beyond Belief with George Noory (and maybe somewhere else, too) and he seemed like such a gentle spirited, sincere, and interesting person that I ordered the book. I am delighted to report that he writes just like he talks. This book is thoughtfully written by a real person. The way he talks about Remote Viewing as a teachable, learnable skill, like riding a bicycle, it reminds me of learning how to draw - people think you're either born with it, or you're not, but indeed, it is a teachable, learnable skill. Drawing, Controlled Remote Viewing, and Bicycle Riding, are all that way. "A little instruction, and a lot of practice (heavy on the practice)," as my favorite Algebra teacher used to say. I found The Seventh Sense to be fascinating, a page-turner, well-written, and inspiring. Thank you, Lyn for sharing your story with the world.

Good but not Great
It was really good. I'm not giving five stars because I was expecting just a bit more. I heard the author on a podcast and was blown away. The book was great, but it didn't blow me away. I hope that helps!

The Seventh Sense
This was the first book I ever picked up on the subject of Remote Viewing and I think it was a very good starting point. The author is no-nonsense and tells you right off that it takes practice, practice, practice to improve any skill, like a martial art. And, remote viewing is no exception. I really enjoyed reading about his personal experiences and how his abilities progressed throughout the years, from childhood and into his military career; and also how certain sessions affected him on a personal level. I especially love that he's using his abilities in a positive, loving way - to help find missing children, etc. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the subject.

A great read about remote viewing
I really liked The Seventh Sense by Lyn Buchanan. The book's preface "Caveat Emptor" was at least to me an original and pleasant surprise, which ignited my curiosity even more. I have not seen this before, but I think it was smart of Lyn to write this kind of preface. Here you can find out quickly what the book is all about as Lyn has something to say to each of the following types of people: For those looking for the Mystical. For the Person Seeking Self-Improvement. For the Scientifically Oriented reader. For the Person who want to learn Remote Viewing. For the Debunker. The book is roughly divided in two parts. The first and main part of the book contains the fascinating stories about how Lyn got involved in Remote Viewing and how he used it as a physical spy for the US Government. The book also contains a smaller "technical part" where the reader is introduced to the technical aspects of Remote Viewing. After reading all the good stories in the book, I believe most people will be curious and also like to know more about remote viewing. Lyn states that this book is not a teaching guide in itself, but still -the last part of the book does a good job introducing the concept of technical remote viewing. I think this a good starting introduction for those who are curious and want at least some technical details about Remote Viewing. If you want more there is also a bibliography reference at the end. Highly Recommended

informative but too partisan
Author sounds as if he has an axe to gring, and never really gets to the essential science behind what he was trying to do

If you have listened to Buchanan speak you may have heard some of the stories but this book is still definitely worth the read. So easy to fly through. Wish it were longer.

This is one of the best books I've ever read; fiction or non-fiction! Whether you've only heard of remote viewing or are looking to improve on the knowledge you currently have on the subject; this book is a must-have. Lyn Buchanan is the real deal when it comes to the subject. Replacing Joe McMoneagle by Joe himself; Lyn was the perfect choice. Read about his amazing life story and learn some invaluable information on how to prepare yourself to learn CRV if you so choose. I highly recommend this book.

This book is packed with information as it covers many topics, not only about remote viewing. For instance, Lyn shares his experience with the infamous Men in Black, the worldwide psi espionage programs, the war on drugs, the nature of secrecy and the military structure etc. I strongly disagree that this book is not a how to do book, because the conditioning of the mind is the most important aspect of the activity itself. You can`t play a game without a program code. Here you will learn how to expand your awareness by building a stronger connection with the subconciouss mind. This book is a wonderland for anyone interested in opening new sensory pathways and new experiences. It is not a complete book, because psi development protocols are still classified to this day. However, I strongly believe it`s possible to learn how to become a great remote viewer simply by following the teachings in the book. The Author has provided several exercises both in the appendix and in the chapters to get us going. It`s a great read and highly recommended for anyone interested in the power of the mind.
