And the Wolves Howled , Fragments of Two Lifetimes

True, but Detailed & Emotionally Hard
I now know that Barbro Karlen is & was -- the spirit of Anne Frank! Her words prove that.! In this life she's had to deal with terrible horrible nightmares--often of being abused in a concentration camp until she died. (I've had memories how I died, so I got this book to see how she worked through her painful memories.) She took a hard road to heal, facing her hardest fears head on, which I give her huge credit for. Her occupational choices of wearing uniforms & police work were too strong for her tender soul & in the end, hardened her soul somewhat (which she admits). Myself, I found daily prayers & forgiveness( in my heart) are the best healing. I gave 4 stars because I wanted more of her spiritual side to come through--times loving her family, her son & animals, instead of her careers & fighting for acceptance from others. We all loved Anne Frank's love & hope & I hoped to hear more from her in this life too. I'm not really judging her, for she's been attacked for her writings, admitting she was once a famous person, hatred & jealousy from co-workers & others, etc. Her honesty, fears, hope, & the refuge of her insightful writing skills, even in this life, all show through, just like Anne Frank's life!

A thought provoking book
The author Barbro Karlen, confirms my own convictions that life does not end with this body made up of Matter. I have had my own out of the body experiences given by the "Higher Power", resulting in me becoming my soul, and am certain, that life does not end with this incarnate body. I like the author, am convinced that we as a soul, inhabit different bodies after each lifetime, to work out our "Karmas". According to some religions, namely Hinduism and Buddhism the soul has to attain a "pure state"of being, before it can become eternal. The author Barbro Karlen's memories of a previous life as Anne Frank, and her present life's trials and difficulties caused by other humans in her work as a horse trainer and dresser, supports "re-incarnation" of the human soul. This real life story (autobiography} of Barbro Karlen, is a very revealing and illuminating book; a book one must read.

Really interesting book.
This book is both interesting and at times horrifying, in both the present and previous lives of Barbro Karlen. It is a disturbing reminder of how evil continues to persist in the world. It also shows the perseverance of the human spirit to vanquish evil. This book reminds me that there are still too many people that are willing to allow the evil behavior of others, and can get sucked into those behaviors themselves, even when they know they are bad/wrong. Humans need to call out lies, deceit and hate whenever it rears its ugly head. Put a stop to it immediately, instead of allowing it to fester and destroy others. Don't be a bystander that watches someone's life be shattered or destroyed when you know the truth. Speak out! Silence aides evil, until all too often it is too late to help the victim of that evil. I highly recommend this book.

The book was nice but I had a hard time getting through the center of the book as it did not deal as much with interacting with a previous life (of Anne Frank) as it did with the subjects difficulties with people at her workplace in current day. I was disappointed in that respect.

Intense reading at times of the Nazi terrors in World War II from the following life's perspective.
This book is very interesting for a number of reasons. I did find it was hard to keep reading a number of times just because it is a distressing set of circumstances for the author herself but also for the past life connections to Anne Frank's life and death. I believe that Barbra Karlen had lived as Miss Frank in her former life as a result of reading this book.

Wonderful read, whether you believe in reincarnation or not
I found this book incredibly inspiring - whether you believe that the author actually lived a previous life as Anne Frank or not! The book focuses more on her life as a police woman and single mom facing one outrageous challenge and mistreatment after another. I'm personally inspired by how she kept going, never stopped doing the right thing in the face of every persecution possible. I'm also impressed by her bravery in choosing to share this story, even if it means being ridiculed for it. I know her professionally and have heard first hand how people laugh at her behind her back because of it. I also know what a genuine, caring and warm-hearted person she is - and I can also attest to that her perseverance in keep seeking to do good has given her a life today that is blessed with the same goodness that she always has put out there.

If this is not authentic I don't know what is.
As a past life therapist, specialized in past life dreams, I find Barbro Karlen's story absolutely convincing. Although her heartbreaking contemporary tale of persecution in a supposedly peaceful country becomes repetitive and almost nauseous after a while it is nevertheless in keeping with what I know about the carry-over of repetition compulsion from one lifetime to another. The return of nightmarish past life memories, triggered by similar tribulations in the present, is equally accurate and authentic. In her heroic struggle with and final victory over the forces of the past the author sets an example for how to deal with and resolve negative karma. Although this book is no work of art, it is an invaluable resource for all of us who struggle and work with past life trauma. And yes, based on the evidence found in this book, I am convinced that Barbro Karlen was in her last life Anne Frank.

It's not at all what I expected from the description.
It's not a horrible book, it is well written, I just gave it a one star because I am very interested in past lives and I thought this book was going to be a lot about her recalling her life as Anne frank. It turns out to only be a very small portion of the book, so I didn't really enjoy it.

Boring and uninteresting
This book is tedious and very boring. The woman's experience is mundane and it should be an expose instead of a fiction "based in real life" story. Her supposed memories of a past life don't matter in the context of the very boring book, and they are only an excuse to present a believe system that is both religious and unprovable proof. Also, equating her discrimination in the workplace with the holocaust is appalling. Just because she has memories doesn't really mean she knows the meaning of the universe.

A very good read
Very thought provoking book, and equally very moving. One that is needed to have a higher profile in this country. Only missed the very top rating because there was a little repetition.

Good read
Amazing book of a woman who believes that she is tbe reincarnated version of Anne Frank. In this life she associates her persecution from a curse from a German woman who cursed Anne in her past life. Theres also lots about horses in there lol.
