If you don't want to seek out all the Allman Brothers albums and you are only familiar with songs you heard on the radio then the best compilation you will likely find for the price. It covers all the albums and picks lots of choice cuts, live and studio. If you like the live tracks I would suggest getting the complete Live at the Fillmore two cd set which is a great companion disc for the Gold collection.

I am a big Allman Brothers fan... I'm very glad I purchased this CD. I've enjoyed several times.

A great collection of the group's best. I do not care much about live recordings, but these live recordings are not bad at all. I only wish they would had included the studio recording of " In Memory of Elizabeth Reed'. I recommend this CD to all of you,

A fairly thorough collection of their older material. I slightly down graded it only due to the fact that this set was put out in 2005 yet only includes songs through the 70's.

A duplicate of the "Road Goes On Forever" compilation. Excellent quality and I am enjoying it very much.

My personal opinion is this is one of the best compilation Albums ever by the Allman Brothers...Worth the wait , True Southern Rock at it's finest!!!Buy this one if given the chance.... Turn it up and enjoy.......

It's got everything I need in one place. I grew up in Atlanta, GA, where the Allman Brothers would play for free at Piedmont Park. I really wish I'd been able to see them at the Fillmore East, though. There's no other band like 'em.

There's only one good song on it that's called a Ramblin Man the rest of the two CDs is terrible no good for nothing very poor they make your gold out when they should make all the good songs not just had only one good song and all the rest of her no good

This 2-disc set has a little from each of the bands albums befoere and after Duane's death. Good quality southern rock

The Allman's at their best !! Such a soulful group with so much talent, never mind the great arrangements and the bonus cuts.

Über die Qualität dieser Songs braucht man keine große Diskussion zu entfachen, sie sind allererste Sahne. Was mich aber wirklich begesitert an gerade dieser Doppel-CD: Der Song kling unglaublich gut: präzise, klar, rund. Dagegen klingen die remastered Versionen immer ziemlich verwaschen und gar nicht remastered. Von daher: Unbedingt kaufen.
