Super strong thread.
Worked perfectly for me on a canvas bag. The included thread is great, the needles were sharp and the hole through which to thread was wide enough for my terrible vision. Inexpensive but totally functional on canvas. I recommend based on my experience.

Cheap alternative to more expensive sewing kits
I ordered this needle kit and thread instead of ordering a speedy awl as I wanted to ensure that I was able to use the smallest needles possible when sewing on a new tongue for my daughter's ice hockey skates. The kit arrived as described and I was able to replace the tongues and sew them in. The needle was small enough that I was able to use the factory sewing holes . The thimble came into use and helped to push the needle through with the waxed thread, but it did take some effort. The waxed thread is definitely strong, unlike others that I have seen reviews for, as I was able to pull with force on the thread to ensure it was tight. I did break one needle half way through sewing the first skate but was able to finish the first skate and second skate using the larger hook needle.

Reasonable
You get a lot for what you pay for. The leather needle bends pretty easily so keep an eye out for it. But I am overall very happy with it.

Good for furniture, not for creating human centipede
I purchased this kit primarily to repair the upholstery on our movie room couch, which had a couple of rips and tears after years of use.Once the couch was fixed, I sat on it and watched a movie called Human Centipede, where a villain sews a bunch of people together to make the titular monster. Remembering the recently purchased upholstery kit and wanting to put it to use, I had an idea: I'd create my own human centipede using my friends and neighbors.First I invited my next door neighbors over under the pretense of having some dinner and watching a movie together. Being on friendly terms, they agreed to an evening of fun. I casually suggested we watch "Human Centipede," but they had apparently heard of it and weren't interested in seeing it again.Excited by their familiarity with the film, I asked "Have you guys ever thought about it?""Thought about what?" Susan asked."Being a human centipede, just like the movie!"They were apprehensive at first, but eventually I persuaded them, and I got my trusty curved needle with leather waxed thread cord and went to work.To make a long story short, I invited dozens of people to my home and combined them into a centipede-like monster using the tools provided by this kit, but ultimately my creation turned on me, ripping me to pieces. As I'm writing this, I'm only alive because I was able to sew myself back together with the skills I had gained in crafting the very monster that tried to kill me.For the kit, 5/5, would suggest buying. As for making a human centipede, 0/5, would not craft again.

Heavy Duty
I used this to sew up some rips in the canvas bag on my very old gasoline powered outdoor/lawn vacuum. I needed a large needle and tough thread. It worked good. Everything seems to be good quality. The heavy thread provided was plentiful and good for my purposes. I really like the sharp awl; it will be good for other purposes too.

Thread is good - Needles are Bad
Like the quality of the thread but while sewing a 5 inch seem on a couch, I broke 3 needles. I'm not sure what they are made of but all 3 of them snapped in half. I'm now buying a different set to complete the job. It might work on thin material but I would not recommend on couch repair.

Excellent starter set
Used this for an project where I needed to stitch some leather scraps together. There is a ton of thread on the little rolls. The thread is thick and waxed. Super easy to work with and mega strong.

Just what I was needing
I used this to sew up a torn dog bed that was too expensive to toss. It worked fine and I look forward to several more years of use from the bed. The dog loved it too!
