Convenient and inexpensive, but ripped the second day of use
This shanty is easy to set up, blocks the wind beautifully, and is fairly easy to take down and pack up. However, after only two outings and careful use we noticed two rips in it already, one at a seam, and another where the poles join. It's very inexpensive compared with other brands, but beware if you're considering purchasing. The seller's 30 day return policy on this shanty is only valid if you haven't used it.

Very Roomy & Very Nice Ice Shanty!
This ice fishing shanty is very good quality & very, very roomy inside! It assembles in seconds & is taken down & stored back in it's bag in a matter of seconds. When I opened the zippered doorway and walked inside I was amazed at how large it is inside! This shanty will easily fit 4 adults in it maybe with a small milk crate turned upside down as a table in the middle for playing a board game or cards while fishing. The blackout feature by closing the window flaps makes the shanty very dark inside in the event the user wants to drill a hole right inside and fish from there. There are 4 windows in all giving complete visual coverage of your tip ups. The windows can all be completely removed for lots of air flow if for some reason the user isn't getting enough air from the 2 screened vents with velcro flaps that are positioned up high near the ceiling. The zippered door flap can be velcroed open or completely closed. There are 8 very heavy duty threaded stakes that come in their own pouch with 4 additional caribiners & light weight rope for tieing down more if necessary in extremely windy weather. I cannot express enough how impressed I am with the roominess of this shanty, and also the ability of the user to completely stand up in it with room to spare. I highly recommend this ice shanty to anyone considering buying one! You will not be disappointed!

Up Date December 07 2014 More Information about repairing broken fiberglass post You can buy a Clam which the fiberglass post almost Never break but cost much more use 1/2 Inch Inside diameter PVC pipe available at most hardware stores. The PVC pipe should be about 4 Inches shorter than the fibergass post and fit snug against the hub. Do Not cut the broken fiberglass post out and slide the PVC pipe over It with the tent side popped Inwards then once You have the PVC pipe In place pop the tent out then on the opposite side of the hub use a 1/4 Inch screw clamp to take up the slack and on the hub side use something as Shoe Glue to keep the PVC pipe from coming off. Please Note KillZone Ice shelters are made of 600 denier Polyester which means despite the post that always seem to break KillZone Is still the best value on the market. Up Date February 29 2012 As I said before If It Is Not set up right there Is risk of damage, Including breaking the fiberglass rods, Mine broke from snow and Ice causing a collapse. 2 ways of stopping a collapse Is have something holding It up or heat Inside to melt the snow & Ice. A cheap way to repair broken rods need 1/2 Inch PVC Water line pipe & a rattail wood file It works good. Also the windows on this are Not the same as on My first Ice Shelter from Sky Enterprise on the first the Velcro strip went all the way around which held the window cover on better & windows do Not fit as well Nether. I have been staying off and on In a Ice Shelter like this since late August because Animals would get under My house and die and I could Not crawl under the house to get them out. I have done much research on Ice Shelters and have owned many tents In the past and they did Not last very long they would rot faster than I could paint It. My first Ice Shelter looks just like this one If Not the same but for some reason that No One understands was discontinued, I wanted another Ice Shelter because I found out when I put a propane Infrared heater Inside It that It was much warmer than My house and because I have Not had a shower In several months because I did Not want to freeze to death, I figured I could use this as a bathroom and get some cheap plywood and put up around It, galvanized tin would be better I was deceived Into believing It was around $1200.00 a sheet but Its around $40.00 a sheet. I bought My first Ice Shelter at EBay because It was cheaper at EBay than Amazon but when I went to order another Ice Shelter at EBay well EBay and PayPal has now got the system so that Is No more works they direct You to filling out some weird form wanting Your life history like some Illuminati company so I came here to Amazon with Is less than a 20% mark up than buying direct from the manufacture so Its still a fair price. Are these Ice Shelters rain proof? "NO" Not If It Is raining hard the rain will leak In through the windows where Its haled by the Velcro It would be great Is Someone would make a 600D Polyester cover for Ice Shelters. Speaking of Polyester It resist rotting and ultra violet rays better than any type of tarp covering I know of even better than PVC tarps and that Is a major reason to buy an Ice Shelter than a regular tent. Polyester Is rated In 300D and 600D and 1200D the better Ice Shelters are 600D This Is an easy Ice Shelter to set up If You know how to do It but If You do It the wrong way You might tear It up, The best way I have found Is lay It out the best You can then put 2 spikes In diagonally from each other then pull on the strings on the sides.

poor quality rods
Purchase this for my older teenage son. 2 rods broke. Used less than 3 times! Piece of junk. How so I get my money back? What a disappointing Christmas gift! Does this thing have replacement rods? Can't locate any.

Not recommended
The tent has alot of stretch holes in the fabric - right out of the box. The canvas carrier bag ripped during the first use, while carrying it out on the ice. It is a decent tent to use if you plan on staying in one spot all day.

Good lil' hut
Bought this a while ago... last couple years I have been able to get on the ice with a friend... he has a larger hut so most of the time we use his... I've set mine up five times, one of the frame poles broke and the carry bag is falling apart... I did enjoy the first few times but until I get replacement parts it's just a big paperweight

Great value.. good durability
Quick setup. Durable when set up.. even in windy conditions. Keeps the cold out.. keeps the heat in nicely. The blackouts for the windows give you good options of lighting conditions inside the shelter. Overall I would recommend this shelter to anybody wanting to get out on the ice. COULD hold four people.. but I wouldn't want more than three inside... two people VERY comfortable with PLENTY of room for gear. Thicker she'll than almost all competitors.

Nice and roomy
Nice and roomy, lightweight. Goes up and folds down easily as long as not too windy. Should really use a helper on windy days. I fought with it on an exceptionally windy day and broke one of the support poles. Overall a very good ice shelter.
