Great game with and historic feel, great solo experience
This is a great game. This is not an entry level game so keep in mind you will have to read the directions and have a few playthroughs before you start really understanding how to best implement your strategy. I love how this game allows you and your soldiers a few actions every turn and you can alter or manipulate your actions by playing cards from your hand. I will try to explain as best as I can but I may not do it the justice it deserves. You start off with choosing or drawing randomly a MISSION card and an OBJECTIVE card you want to Play. The MISSION card will set up how much resource you have to spend on soldiers and equipment/skills. The MISSION card will also set up how many rounds you have in the game, and any modifiers to change gameplay. You then set out the OBJECTIVE card that was chosen and place it in the location number where you were instructed by MISSION card. The OBJECTIVE card will then tell you how to complete the mission before the time runs out.As you play and move solders to different locations to try and reach your objective, you will get attack by enemy forces. These enemy cards that are drawn at these locations may have different skills unique to each enemy. For example you may draw two enemies in a location and one enemy will have the keyword "screened" meaning it may be protected by other enemy cards before you can attack it. There are numerous skills to understand but this is the beauty of trying to figure out how to get the most out of your actions and cards to do the most damage and get to your objective. This series can all be played together if you wanted or you can play them as stand alones. There are many expansions you can mix in and if you have certain expansions and you can play any countries against each other. You can tell that a ton of love was put into this game and its mechanics.I would have to say if you are a solo boardgamer and you like wargames/fantasy type games. you will also love this style of game. In my opinion when I play this game I get it all in one game. I get a little dungeon crawl moving across locations and fighting enemies, card play where you can manipulate actions, or discard cards to supplement other cards, and using your weapons dice rolls to fight enemies where your weapons and skills can help you with defeating them. I get it all. much love to DVG games

Very solid game
This game provides an excellent solo experience. In addition, it is part of a system which includes modern warfare and upcoming fantasy and sci-fi settings. You can have a group of modern day soldiers with modern weapons fight a WWII battle, for example. It's a great system and they did a great job with the game components as well,

For the Solo board wargamers out there
This is a great, well designed, board wargame designed specifically for solitaire play. It has depth and endless replayabilty, and yet the rules are not overly complex. I was up and playing in no time.

Complicated, but pays off for sure.
There are a lot of rules that can make that first game go pretty slowly, but once it clicks it offers a fantastic experience with a good amount of customization and freedom in how you play out each battle.
