Spice Island Old Hickory Smoked Salt, 4.8-Ounce Jars (Pack of 3)

I have used this for years. Add to sour cream, tuna fish, pork chops, anything you want to add smoked flavor to. Haven’t been able to find it locally for months. I buy 3 and give them to my kids for Christmas presents.

Well needless to say, this seasoning is the best stuff I have ever used in my 51 years of life. I have heard "That's the best steak" or "That's the tastiest chicken, I have ever had" mor than 100 times from family and friends since I found this spice some 15 or so years ago. Back then however, I only had to purchase one bottle at a time at ANY of the major food shopping markets in my neighborhood. It was always right there in the "Spice Islands Rack" with all the other fine Spice Islands products. Then one day it was like "Old Hickory Smoked Salt" had been discontinued and was impossible to find any longer, meanwhile all the same huge assortment of spices were still available at the same shopping centers.Since that day, I have had to order this product online, purchase 3 bottles at a time, and pay a ridculous ammount of shipping fees to get this product to my famlies table. Why was this product discontinued in markets in the first place ???? Why must I have to purchase online only Spice Islands ?? Seems to me, a product this good, should be within arms distance , in every store, to every customer, in the great ol' United States of America !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let the foreigners pay shipping costs LOL !!

Love this seasoning and has been difficult to find in grocery stores. So happy to have found it!

Good product

I get a 3 bottle package at a time and it is cheaper than when I used to get it locally. I have enjoyed this product for years on salmon, beef, pork and in soups and stews. This is a fairly strong salt so don't over do it. If your recipe calls for salt don't add any until after you have added the Old Hickory Salt. It is like cooking BBQ all year round!

If you like a nice, not overpowering, hickory taste, this is the one.

This by far is the best product to put on hamburgers and steaks,I have been using this since I was a kid and absolutely love the flavor. I hate that I can't buy it in the stores but thank goodness for Amazon, and I can still get it when I run out.I am not a big seasoner on my food, but I think this is hands down the best seasoning for steaks.... if you haven't tried it, you should... won't be disappointed.

The media could not be loaded. This spice is a key ingredient in two of our recipes. It smells terrible if you smell it in the spice jar, but adds a distinct flavor that is delicious! I ordered this 3 pack and then ended up having to contact Amazon to request a replacement because it arrived smashed. The three jars were sort of plastic wrapped together and that was placed in a bubble mailer. Not really shocking that the glass would be broken upon delivery. This seller needs to do a better job packaging their glass spices in my opinion. Amazon ended up refunding me and telling me to just reorder.Bottom line, this spice is fantastic! We buy it every couple of years. Shipping could use some improvement. First pic is what the inside of the package looked like when I opened it.
