Perfect Pocket Knife?
I'm not a huge pocket knife guy, I mostly just use them for backpacking, but this knife has me wanting to carry it with me all the time. I bought a benchmade bugout and then this knife right after. The spyderco is way better in my opinion, and cheaper as well. Compared to the benchmade this knife just feels way more useable as a daily carry. The clip works better, the grip is smoother and sturdier, and the locking action is way easier to use especially 1-handed. I'll probably throw the benchmade in to my bugout bag or bring it camping, since it is lighter and has a nice blade. The benchmade might have a better blade, but it overall feels too delicate both in the handle and blade. The spyderco blade is thick and the knife as a whole seems ready for some abuse and works good for all knife tasks I've put it up against. The para 3 is very ergonomic and the perfect size as well in my opinion.I put this thing to the test yesterday when I was building dirt beds and opened a dozen bags of dirt/mulch with gloves and thick mud on my hands and this knife went in and out of my pocket and operated with ease. Rinsed it off afterwards and did some food prep. This knife is awesome. Beats the crap out of every other knife I've ever used.Spending $100 + on a pocket knife is a tough sell for me, but for $100 I'd buy this knife again.

Ordered for gifts; they seem like good knives
I know very little about knives but wanted to buy a good, general use pocket knife to give some family members. After reading and watching many reviews I chose the Spyderco Para 3 Lightweight in the BD1N steel. (The different steels affect the price of knives.). The ones I ordered were sold by and shipped directly from Deadwood Knives in Knoxville, TN. They shipped immediately from Deadwood and arrived very quickly. They appear to be authentic and I like them; hope the recipients will too. Lightweight, sharp, sturdy, small enough to not alarm others, just a good all-purpose pocket knife hopefully.I do wish amazon would include the seller and shipper when posting reviews. Be aware there are a lot of counterfeits out there that are very difficult to detect. Also, I've read that amazon mixes inventory from different vendors. ??? Try to buy from a seller/shipper you trust.

Great knife, but it feels like a toy
I’m so glad that I mustered the courage to spend the money this knife costs, because I love it. It feels great in the hand, disappears in the pocket, and cuts through anything. It’s so light that it feels flimsy, even though it’s incredibly robust. I wasn’t initially sold on the spyderco aesthetic, but it’s grown on me. I consider it too intimidating looking for everyday carry, but I prefer it for use at home. It’s also perfect for idle fiddling, with it’s light weight and wonderful grip.

6 out of 5 Stars
Was a bit disappointed when I first received this knife. For $91, the FRN handle seemed too slick and made the knife feel cheap. Also, I was having trouble getting a good purchase on the handle to flick the blade out. Despite my early concerns, I have grown to love this knife. I now realize the true genius in the design, and I like it more and more every day I carry it (which is every day). The handle is lightweight, but solid. the action is smooth, and I quickly learned to flick that blade out and back with ease. The compression lock is quite fun to use. The deep-carry wire pocket clip is probably this knife's best feature! It slides on and off fabric easily, yet stays in place very well. . . I honestly don't know how they created such an effective pocket clip. Blade is a very usable shape for EDC tasks, and no sign of corrosion so far. I no longer seem to use any of my many other pocket knives--I might even sell them all! Highly recommend this knife for your do-it-all EDC knife!

Beautiful knife, lightweight pro or con?
The media could not be loaded. Beautiful knife! Fully lives up to its reputation and quality. First and foremost, the ergonomics of this knife are incredible, it feels like an extension of your hand. The steel quality, fit and finish, ease-of-use especially one-handed, the compression lock are all amazing features of this knife. What are the cons? For me, this knife lives up to its name by being lightweight, however it feels a little too light. I prefer a little bit more heft to a knife, but if you’re looking for a combination of amazing ergonomics and light weight EDC carry then this is for you. Ultimately I bought a para 3 as my primary edc because it has the heft and the grippyness I’m looking for. However, I recognized that there are times and clothing selections and I prefer to have something lighter and hence I kept this knife. The wire clip is easier to use on say running shorts pockets, however I did find that it wasn’t quite durable for every day use because the clip does kind of twist out of place if you bump into something. See pics. Other than that, this is my lightweight back up carry to the regular para 3.

High quality and ultralight.
Very sharp out of the box. Fit and finish is tops. Dead center alignment. A few drops of knife oil really helps the mechanism break in. It’s a tad stiff at first but smoothed out after a few days of flicking.I could actually like this a bit more if it was actually a bit heavier…might be a bit too light for my taste. Compared to the benchmade mini grip….prob lean towards the benchmade. But I like the size of the para 3 more…it’s a touch bigger but half the weight. Both are great and both lock mechanisms work well….again leaning more toward the benchmade. It just has a better over quality and less “cheap” feel.
