The Baader Planetarium Moon & Skyglow (Neodymium) filter brings an entirely unique approach to planetary contrast enhancement and light pollution reduction. Based on earlier research at Carl Zeiss, Baader has developed a new filter that uses Neodymium glass which filters out a few specific wavelengths from streetlights as well as skyglow from the Moon. The unique spectral characteristics of Neodymium also boost color contrasts by isolating the Red, Green, and Blue regions (so-called RGB enhancement). The result is a filter that leaves natural colors mostly intact, but significantly enhanced.Planetary and Lunar views are improved in all scopes, reflectors, refractors (APO or Achro). Jupiter's Great Red Spot and ruddy hues of the bands are noticeably enhanced, and contrast of Martian surface features significantly boosted. The Background sky is darkened, and subtle details improved. The filter's high efficiency preserves image brightness, and many Galaxies, Nebulae and Globular Star Clusters are improved due to the reduction of skyglow from artificial lighting. The high quality of Baader Planetarium filters permits stacking with no image degradation. Achromat owners will find the combination of Moon & Skyglow and the new Fringe Killer filter to be ideal for planetary viewing. The high light throughput and natural coloration will make achromats perform more like an apochromat. An integrated version is also now available, the Semi-APO filter. The filter substrate is a special custom melt of Neodymium doped glass, designed for specific transmission characteristics, and made only for Baader Planetarium. In addition to it's unique spectral characteristics, unlike most filters, the Baader Moon & Skyglow surfaces are optically polished to deliver the best possible image sharpness and contrast. The images below demonstrate the large contrast improvement on Mars. Baader Moon & Skyglow
En general se ve de calidad, aunque cuando lo use en un adaptador SVbony y Celestron , cuando lo ajuste era un poco difÃcil de removerlo, (ajustarlo pero no mucho), en resumen muy bueno, luego lo pondré a prueba…

Great for Imaging
Used to image the Horsehead and Flame in Bortle 5-6 with an orange streetlamp close by. Using an 80mm refractor and DSLR. Got way better results than a previous attempt without this filter.I also viewed M42 through an 8" dob. It added some contrast. This filter really shows it's stuff when used for imaging.

Great for moon glow in red and blue, but doesn't block much in green.
Blocks a lot of moon glow. Used with RGB color filters under a nearly full moon I get no gradients on the red and blue filters, and only a slight gradient through the green filter. Also, the effect of light pollution is reduced through the red and blue filters, but not so much through the green filter.

It works!
This is my first light polution filter so it is hard to be objective but I love it. The difference is night and day in my astrophotography. I could only take a 10 or 15 second exposure with my canon t1i before and now I am taking 80 second exposures to fill the histogram.

Perfect
Very lightweight and sharp

Far better than other brands
There are other brands offering Moon and Sky Glow Filter, but they never come closer to Baader quality.

Great filter, works fine!

The "Jack Knife" of eyepiece filters.
I've been an amateur astronomer for over 30 years. I didn't buy mine on Amazon so this won't show as a "verified purchase". This Baader Neodymium Moon and Skyglow filter is the most useful of all my filters. It helps reduce glare and bring out contrast on the moon and pretty much all the planets. It is especially useful at bringing out Jupiter's GRS. I also use it for solar observing (in conjunction with a proper white light solar filter of course) to bring out surface granularity on the sun. It is not really a light pollution filter and cannot take the place of a proper narrow or broadband light pollution filter, but if I could only have one filter in my kit then this would be it. Every amateur astronomer should own one.One important note: Other brand or cheap generic filters labeled as "Skyglow" and/or "Moon" filters are not the same as this filter. The cheap Skyglow filters you see on eBay do little or nothing to improve image quality.
