Gidbo - Smart AC Controller - WiFi - App for Android & iOS - Compatible with Alexa & Google Home

When I received my Gidbo, I discovered that you needed an AC remote to program it (rather than being able to select your brand and model number). The problem is that I've somehow lost my AC remote because keeping track of things isn't my life skill.I emailed Tech support asking if there was another way to program the Gidbo, and they were absolutely incredible. First of all, they got back to me within an hour – on a Sunday. While it's not supported to set up your Gidbo without a remote, the tech support took my model number and account name, and then spent the next several emails uploading different codes associated with my model number and asking me to try it out. Of 6 codes, the 6th one worked perfectly. This experience was above and beyond my expectations – and being able to do it over email (with 2-3 minute waits between emails) was incredible. This shows the power of the cloud that supports Gidbo, as well as the drive behind their tech support. I'd also like to mention that using Gidbo, I've discovered my AC can do things the panel and remote didn't let me access before – jumping from 74 to 62 for example, without needing to push 'temp down' 8 times.In the future, it would be nice to have a 'find your code' feature added to the app, but as for right now I'm more than beyond impressed. I contemplated buying a few similar devices that cost two to three times as much. I was skeptical that a device in this price range could deliver the same features. I was wrong. It immediately had the settings on the app that corresponded to my air conditioner. You will need the remote control for the air conditioner to setup the device. Adding the skill to Alexa was very easy for someone who has done it before. I can now tell Alexa to set the air conditioner to Cool before I go to my upstairs office or control it from the app on my phone.

I bought a slightly cheaper MOES SMARTLIFE unit. It was unable to completely integrate with my Amazon Echo Dot (Alexa). After reading more reviews, I ordered the GIDBO hub. It did not work with my older FUJITSU split AC when I first installed it. I sent an email to customer support. They emailed some instructions and performed a firmware update which did not take very long. The bottom line is that the product works and GIDBO support is excellent. I do work in a hi-tech industry and I know good support reps when I see it.

Great device for the price , works well with My both systems. I did buy 6 devices for all mini splits in my house. This device works from everywhere through the WiFi in your home. Also the App is very simple and easy to use. In addition their Tech Support is fantastic and e-mailing , responding to my questions very quick. When I emailed them they will respond . I used 3 other different brands but I replaced all of them with Gidbo. Also have a eco system and save you some $$Air-Corn 18000 BTU 1 zoneThermocore 63000BTU 5 zonesThank you

Holy guacamole!!! What good customer service.1. I don't often write reviews.2. When I do, it's because a product or company has highly impressed me or horribly disappointed me.I'm glad to say this has been one of my better purchases. I was a bit dubious because this AC controller is about 1/2 the price of anything comparable. As usual with Amazon, it came super quick. The set up was pretty easy; download the Gidbo app, set up an account, plug in the device and the app walks you through the rest. I hit a snag because my particular AC/heater unit wasn't working when I selected "Edgestar" from the available models. I emailed support as it suggested in the app and was shocked to get a response right away.We exchanged a couple of messages and before I knew it, they made a Edgestar 2 option available in the app. The were 2 buttons that needed to be switched and they updated that in a matter of minutes for me.The app itself is pretty intuitive and the device takes up very little space. I haven't had much time to play around with too many of the features or automation functions but I had to write this review because you acn confidently buy this and have no worry that Gidbo will make sure this works for you.I will update this review as I have more time with it but so far, huge kudos to Gidbo.

Absolutely outstanding product and even better customer service! I purchased the Gidbo module for my disabled 73 year old mother so she can control her mini split heater and a/c from bed. Unfortunately her old Samsung S4 phone and android version 4.4.4 were not compatible with the latest Gidbo app. I contacted Gidbo customer service and to my surprise they responded right away offering to create a new Gidbo app that works for older Android phones and versions. 2 days later the new app is here and works perfectly!!!!! We can't thank Gidbo enough for going out of their way to help us out. Other companies should use Gidbo's customer service, pride of ownership and willingness to help and satisfy every customer as an example and standard to operate by. Thank you Gidbo!

This little thing is genius! Setup was easy, but like others had to contact support for an update. And must say their support is quick and got this thing running great! Alexa setup was easy too. Wish I’d found this thing much earlier - had tried a smart plug and scenes before, but that didn’t work at all.

I wrote to Gidbo’s customer service last week for some minor compatibility issues and I still haven’t heard back from them. My ac unit was not it the list of remotes and the auto enroll feature did not work. I had to try all of the different remotes and find the one that works best. It’s missing small features that I don’t use and the temperature on the app goes up or down .5 degrees at a time but my ac unit supports 1 degree at a time. It’s a little annoying because I have to hit the up or down button twice every time I want to change the temperature. Also, when I go from heating to cooling, I have to hit the refresh button. Even though there is some minor issues that I can easily live with, I’m giving this 3 stars because of the nonexistent support from Gidbo. The app look great.

Had to contact support to add my remote which they did without any trouble. After some doubts I can say that it works great!Edit : it works but basically only for on/off. Support said they would work on other features like changing temperature which they never did. And they do not answer anymore... I guess you get what you pay for.

Is easy to install and in generally finds lots of models of AC. No Response from customer service if you had an issue. Needed some help with the installation and had to figure it myself. Good product in general customer service could be better

I wrote to Gidgo customer service to ask if my unit brand was compatible, beofre ordering. I had no answer. I ordered the device and spent many hours trying to install it. I did not succeed. I returned the device back. This device does not work with all brands.
