I bought this collet for my 1/2 " Makita, and it fit perfectly, however, when I attempted to insert my 1/4" adapter collet, it wouldn't fit. I had to file down the inside of the 1/2", then I was able to tap the 1/4" collet into it. The same 1/4" collet slips into another 1/2" router I have with ease. Also,inserting 1/2" bits is rather difficult without tapping them in.
