The Thompson Chain Reference Study Bible: New King James Version, Full Color, Personal Size Hardcover – August 1, 2005

I have had several of these Bibles, and the last one I got for myself is in the NKJV. I carry and study this one the most. It doesn't have a complete concordance, but no Bible could; I just rely on the Holy Spirit to remind me of other words in a scripture and use the concordance to locate it. I have looked at other study Bibles, and they just don't all of the features and layout as the Thompson Bible. I don't need the Strong's numbering system to get me through life. This would be a good choice for a new believer who will advance to the "meat" of God's Word and not have to buy a new Bible that they will have to mark up when they study.

This by far is the best bible. It is short and fat, meaning it has everything and in easy to transport. The NKJV has even more than the NJV, because of its mid-chapter one liners that tell you what's coming up. I could go on but I won't, buy one and see the awesome amount of references.

I bought this as a birthday present for my Mother who is the Pastor of our Church. She uses it almost daily and absolutely loves it. It arrived right on time a little less than a week after I ordered it. The seller gave a accurate description and the book was in excellent condition.

I'm a fan of Thompson's Bible, as I believe the best commentary on the Bible is the Bible itself. Having said that, I was happy to see someone publish the Handi-Size in the NKJV. I find the font is readable, although small, and the study helps are excellent. If you like visual aids, summaries and outlines, this Bible is right up your alley. The concordance is acceptable, and the general index of scriptures is surely the best you can find in a Bible today. I'd rate the New Open Bible next, but it doesn't come close to the volume of related references this Bible provides. It is a bit "thick", but small enough to carry comfortably. It is my fourth Thompson, and probably not my last. I rate it a "4" because Nelson only makes it available in hardback or BONDED leather! WHY I can't imagine. I'm sure I'll be replacing it sooner than I'd like due to the cheaper binding. Quite a disappointment, but the contents will make up for it.

I was very please with this bibles condition. It look like new on the interior. I couldn't have expected better. This was a good purchase. Still enjoying the words and beauty of this bible.

This is a fine Bible. Nicely constructed of quality materials and cetainly a companion for life. It is one of three translations I purchased recently and all have been very impressive.

Sorry, but I do not recommend this edition of the Thompson chain Study Bible.That is, I don't recommend the Thomas Nelson edition. For that matter, the Kirkbride edition is not much better.If I try to use this Bible to preach out of, or teach out of, all the pages are curled up before I'm even finished (and I'm a short-winded preacher!)The reason is, the pages are too thin.Also, the leather is atrocious, and not what it used to be.Take it from someone who owns a Thompson Chain Reference Bible in every available translation: They don't make them like they used to.Not recommended.

This is an amazing reference bible. The guy I bought it from was also amazing to deal with.Peace,jonathan
