Caps on both my 5 gallon containers were shot. This definitely beats buying 2 new containers for $20 to $50 a piece and than also having to deal with the new, govt. mandated, safety features that everyone is complaining about. I think I can manage not to spill fuel myself, thank you very much. Plastic does seem to be good quality - seems to flex a little more than the old hard plastic caps (which I see as good). Not sure how long they'll last. Got new gaskets for the nozzles too. Hopefully won't have to buy a new, no-spill can in my lifetime.

These work on my Rubbermaid and Gott cans from back in the day. They match the original caps to the "T", specifically the threads which are the correct pitch AND size. Hopefully they will end up being more durable than the originals which were prone to splitting. You also have to tighten these pretty tight to make sure gas doesn't leak should the can get tipped over. That could be due to the rubber gasket not being pliable enough. My final analysis at this point is that they are priced too high.FWIW, another set of cheap Chinese knockoffs that I tried had threads that were the correct pitch, but were too fine. They would not thread and seat the cap correctly - the super thick washer they included didn't help.

The vent caps I received were just what I needed to replace those that had broken apart on the plastic gasoline containers I use for small engine gas. I could not find caps locally and was not satisfied with my temporary, home-made fix. So was pleased to find a suitable replacement from a reliable supplier. A small, simple item, but important to have the right fit for the containers; and fast service from the supplier was an added bit of good news!

First, these do NOT fit the old 2-1/2 gallon chain saw gas cans that have the separate smaller bar oil tank combined. I'm not giving these 1 star because they don' t fit my gas can. I'm giving them 1 star because the lanyard is molded into the cap making the cap impossible to turn when the lanyard is attached. The cap can't rotate, the lanyard part would have to be trimmed completely off. Really dumb, overpriced design.

My gas container needed a new vent cap for years. The original was punched-out when it was over-tightened and I had to put a piece of plastic over the shell. Now, I have a new cap and one spare. The ring of the original serves to prevent over-tightening to prevent the cap from punching-out again.

Finally found some of these. I have 2 cans that I have to keep track of the vent cap.

Hard to find item! Ordered, arrived on time, work perfectly. Will order again as needed.
