20 Gauge Clear Vinyl, Fabric by the Yard

I had a problem with a stray cat scratching the screen on my storm door. She was putting holes in it. I bought this and put it over the screen and problem solved. It is perfectly clear so it is not noticible unless you are knocking on the door. She tried to climb the door one time and slid down so she doesn't try anymore.

Tacked the vinyl to my couch corners for cat scratch protection, worked perfectly! Crystal clear, good thickness and quality. Also, one yard of this stuff is a lot, so great value for the price. Came rolled, not folded which is ideal.

Great price for the yardage! Better than any local craft shop.

I needed to buy some clear plastic to cover a screen on my back door. They wanted $200 to custom make a glass to fit that part of the screen door. So, instead I bought this clear plastic, cut it to size, and taped it to the inside of the screen on the door. It works fine and keeps out the rain and cold air fairly well, until I can afford to replace the entire door with a new storm door.

So I purchased this to use in an outdoor waterfall….the wind was blowing the water out of the pond and the rocks behind the waterfall. It’s a small Ornamental pond on the front lawn in a flower garden. I have never made anything like it so it’s all trial and error. After having to refill the pond every 2-3days I thought I would try this. It’s working. When it’s really humid it does fog up but I am ok with that. I did purchase more then I needed for this. I am going to make curtains for a small framed gazebo we have at our back door (to keep the rain off the doors) for the winter to keep the snow from drifting by the door—may work may not—who knows). Happy with this so far.

I have a very old house that has a large double sash window with a set of doors under it that overlap in the middle. I wanted to fabricate a storm window of sorts to place on the outside during the cold months in PA. I did not want it to be too heavy or too darn expensive. I made a wooden frame with cross pieces at the bottom of the sash and where the two sash meet. I painted it and then applied this vinyl with upholstery type thumb tacks. I applied it taut while inside the house and the cold keeps it tight and perfectly clear. Don't know how long it will hold up but it worked out well.

I ordered enough of this product that it was sent to me in a roll. It is a nice weight for my purpose (pond cover) and was easy to roll out, measure, and cut. It helps that there is a tissue layer that prevents it from sticking. I will be using some of it to tack onto the back of my sofa where one of my cats has taken to scratching - I think it will help to prevent future damage.

The roll arrived in decent condition despite the single strip of packing tape that was used to seal each end of the shipping box arriving severed on one end leaving the box completely open. The vinyl served the purpose that we bought it for (covering fabric on some old kitchen chairs to be used outdoors). But as other reviewers have noted, the printed tissue paper rolled in between the vinyl transferred the paper's orange print design on to the majority of the vinyl. Since we used the vinyl to cover cream-colored fabric on our chairs, the orange was really noticeable. But since looks was a huge issue for us, we just went ahead and used it rather than request a replacement.
