Are there any similar keyboards that don't have the letttering-fade problem?  None of the specs I've seen say anything about this.

Yes, there are many other keyboards that don't suffer from letter fading of the keys. There are different methods to avoid the problem but, personally, I'd suggest a backlit keyboard - although I don't recommend the ones from Perixx. With backlit keyboards, their letters aren't printed on; instead that part of the key is transparent to allow the backlight to shine up through it. As such, there is no printing to fade AND you have the advantage of being able to use it in dim/dark conditions without having to turn on an overhead light.

Question 2

Does the lettering wear off frequently used keys?

Eventually, any keyboard that prints the letters onto the keys will definitely have them wear off. Also, consider that although Perixx marketing likes to make a big deal about being Designed In Germany, the reality is their products are Made In China! I'm sure you can imagine what that means for the quality and long-term durability. To avoid the inevitable fading away of the printed letters, simply go with engraved, laser etched, or backlit keys instead.

Is this keyboard mechanical?

No it's a retro keyboard. If you grew up in the 80s and 90s you would know what this sort of keyboard is. The only gripe is that it has no quick charging or wireless for mac and Windows 95 users to cut the cord after a 5 minutes change like your smartphone can do for this and mice for the pc as well.

Maybe in the future they'll make retro wireless keyboards and mice for the old school pc guys wanting that being more grown up here vs the gaming bling rgb crap they have now just to have the old retro keyboard mouse for pc back again here.

What is the key rollover of this keyboard?
