Great for small jobs.
Very good for yard and shop equipment.Didn't come with much as far as directions. I had some issues with getting the plunger to push the grease through the grease cartridge. The plunger doesn't want to fit into the cartridge so I ended up having to get the grease directly into the reservoir. This was very messy!!!Also, both the rigid stem and flex hose has male ends, this means you can use one or the other at a time. The rigid stem has no flats for a wrench so I ended up scaring it up pretty bad trying to get the coupler off to use the flex tube.

Very messy, difficult to load, wasteful execution on an otherwise solid product
I got this as a small grease gun to use as I'm a perpetual renter without a workshop, and it's great for taking with me to the boat ramp and leaving in the back of the truck. It's easy to assemble and works well, when it works at all. The instructions were fairly clear except for the minor line noting how to purge the air out of the grease tube.Once the grease tube is inserted, it's super important to untwist the head of the gun a turn or two and release the plunger. I had it mostly screwed on, then backed it off until I heard air escaping barely, waited for the "hiss" to stop, and then quickly tightened the head of the gun again. After doing this, it worked well, but sometimes I had to rinse and repeat to keep using all the grease from the cartridge (and I never accomplished that).I thought using the Lucas Oil 10682 Marine Grease - 3 oz (Pack of 3) would have been the way to get the best results, but the tubes were not very full to begin with, and also a real pain in the butt to load without spilling everywhere. The tubes are so air tight that just pushing them into the gun caused them to leak and there is really no great way to solve this, as far as I can tell. I (stupidly) ordered more of the same tubes to see if I can pull the plunger and push at the same time in order to insert the tubes without much spillage.Having said all that, the grease gun feels solid, the attachments are good, and it's got a tool and extra tape to seal air leaks. I want to like it, and I'd love to update my review if I can work out the kinks, but right now this is a 3 star product because it's so messy and difficult to use even with Lucas branded grease cartridges.

Out of the box it seems like a relatively well made unit
I bought this to help service my pickup truck and a snowblower, so I didn't need a larger, full sized grease gun because it'll only get occasional use.Out of the box it seems like a relatively well made unit. I did opt to use the flexible hose instead of the rigid tube. It seems to work alright the first few times I used it, although it seemed to get stuck on the zerk fitting after pumping in grease. I chocked this up to being new, but it the problem persists, I would consider a different unit.

Some design flaws, but works
I got this for doing my ball joints. I needed a flexible hose, so this one seems to fit the bill nicely.I got this and when I went to swap the flexible hose with the solid one, well, it would not fit. Figured out the flexible hose needs to go into the hole on the top. So I go to take the plug out, but no way to easily get it out. I ended up getting some needle nose vice grips and got it off. Put in in the side port, a little harder with the limited space, but was able to get it in there. I did use the included teflon tape on the threads. Installed the flexible hose on the top port no problem. Then I went to get the fitting off the rigid tube, and no way to get it off. There are fittings on the fitting, but nothing to grab on to for the tube part. I had to stick it in a vice to hold it,and was able to get it off, but may have deformed the rigid tube. I don't plan on using it, so no big deal, but still, poor design.Once I got it ready, the tube of grease fit in just fine (I used Green Grease 203). A few pumps to purge the air and it works just fine. I have gone through almost 1 tube so far and still works fine.I will update if any issues.

I would recommend!
This is a quality built mini grease gun. The seal does not allow the grease to seep past the seal like other mini grease guns. You pull back the tee handle plunger and grease comes out of the hole in the rear. This doesn't happen with this mini grease gun.

There are a lot of bad reviews here
There are a lot of bad reviews here, mostly because of user error. It will function as intended if you don't mind messing with it a bit.You will not get the coupler off of the straight tube unless you use a bench vise. Expect to scratch it up a bit trying to get it off.The tool is very sensitive to air pockets. If you loose pressure while pumping: pull the plunger back and lock it, unscrew the top 3 turns, release the plunger, and screw the top back on. This should bleed out any air. Expect to do it once or twice per tube.Overall, I wouldn't recommend it. For $5-10 more you can get a better full size model.

See the Videos online Before Loading Grease Cartridges
I've used the pistol once since purchasing, and it works. The price was competitive. However, I'm giving only 2 stars for two reasons. First, the instructions for loading a cartridge are entirely useless. I could not get it to pump any grease. I was ready to return it, but finally went online and found a website ([...]) that was quite helpful explaining how to operate the plunger, load the cartridge, and ensure there is no air in the line. Before the video, I wasted an entire cartridge of grease in the process. Secondly, the flex tubing end fittings are too large to fit through the access hole in the handle. So I unscrewed the fitting from the end of the straight tube, attached the flex tube to the straight tube using a threaded coupling ($2.79 at Ace Hardware), and then reattached the fitting to the flex tube, Now I see that I probably could have attached the flex tube to the very end and changed out the plug with the straight tube, but the way I have it now with the coupling gives me more scope, and all of the pieces are now attached to the gun where I can find them.
