DOWNTOWN DISNEY Rainforest Cafe Blue Mug With Parrot Log

I become very nostalgic when finding items from the Rainforest Café, which opened a branch on Long Island in its heyday several years ago that my husband and I used to love going to. One of its features was a live parrot show, and it was always a delight to see those tropical birds. The restaurant was magical and "alive" with jungle animals & sounds, and next door was a gift shop featuring mugs such as this blue parrot one - heavy, thick & strong glazed ceramic in a jumbo size, at least 3 regular coffee cups worth. I had the purple elephant mug back then, but on viewing Amazon's assortment I couldn't resist this blue parrot mug, which was always sold out at my local R.C. gift shop. A tip: if you have a 4-cup coffeemaker you have broken the carafe of, take a sharp knife and snip off the plastic "pusher" under the basket so the water drips straight down, fill the water chamber to 3 cups, put your Rainforest Café mug underneath, add filter & coffee (or just filter if you want tea) to basket and press "on" to get your favorite hot beverage; a great idea to protectively pack in your suitcase for short trips.
