The kitty tower in the picture had seen better days. The carpeting attached to the poles was in shreds, leaving a mess daily all over the floor. The sad part, the cats play on this thing all day, so replacing it with another carpeted tree seemed like a dumb idea. This was the best solution, looks great, functions better than when it was new. I secured the bottom end with a few narrow crown staples, which hold it securly in place. I wound the rope around the wooden pole (after I had removed the shreds of carpeting), using a hammer to tap the rope down and make it tight against itself. I used NO glue, and secured the top end with a couple of narrow crown staples in a hidden area, hoping to keep those from getting pulled out. So far, so good. This sisal has no oil odor like some, so it is safe for use on the cat tree.

We needed new rope for our kittys scratching post. The thinkness was correct. It is strong & looks great. Went easily around the proper post. No odor or oil. Perfect for the kitty. Don't hesitate to purchase if you need to replace rope on a cat perch

The ends are not taped to prevent unraveling and it smells like someone dumped perfume on it. There is no oil, but the perfume was not wanted nor needed. It's for wrapping a scratching post. Don't know where to get untainted rope. Why do rope manufacturers seem to think added scent is a plus? It isn't. The cat won't be the only one having a problem with this.

i finally found a rope that my cats can destroy in 24 hours. the thick rope lasts much longer. just wind it tight on the old cat post and secure each end with a wood screw and washer.

Was to big for a scratcher pole. Wouldn’t stay glued and would have had to staple, and I was concerned about cats claws getting caught. My 2 cats use the poles to sharpen clays faithfully and almost daily, so staples were a concern. Smaller size working very well. Did not return b/c I had tried to glue it onto scratcher.
