Bought this for my grandson .
Purchased as a birthday gift for my Grandson, a thousand miles away. So I haven't seen the rod and reel. But I have confidence in Zebco.

Does what I need it to. Pretty easy to use. Not the best rod I'm sure, but for a beginner like me, I'm happy with it.

Old style Zebco 33
The picture showed an old style 33. I took a chance and after a week it came and it is the 33H-CKK1 reel with quick anti reverse. No bait alarm, nothing but the drag wheel. It looks like the old Zebco Mercury. Just what I wanted. Now the rod was broken in multiple pieces because at Amazon they don’t know how to pack a fishing rod and seem to not care to learn. Any time Amazon does the shipping there are multiple complaints about how horribly fishing rods are packed. Often they’re not “packed”, just put loose in a box. I wanted the reel, so I’ll keep what I got. If you really want a rod, don’t let Amazon ship it.

Don't waste your money
Junk, don't waste your money. On our first fishing trip, it seemed to cast ok, then stopped retrieving the line. We ended up with a big wad of line that would not reel back into the fishing reel. The rod seems to be ok, but the reel is junk. Since our first fishing trip was after the return period, we were unable to return it for a refund. I would NOT recommend this product.
