2012 Rock Lobster Zinfandel 750 mL Wine

I first tried Rock Lobster at the artichoke festival...I liked it so much I came home and ordered six bottles..we went thru two bottles in two days ..lol I hid the other four bottles so hopefully they'll last a week..lol Cheryl PalmerP.s. Amazon got it to me fast and safe. Cheryl Palmer

Unlike other reviewers here, I found this wine to be only adequate. I am not a wine connoisseur, but Zinfandel is one of the wines we tend to go with in our house, and I've had many of the old vine types. I was optimistic about this 2012, but admit bought it on a whim from Woot (based on the reviews here, to some degree). To me, the alcohol is a bit much, even though it is not extremely high (nor low, at 14%). Or, maybe another way to say it is that it lacks some body and fruit, and the pepperiness I usually expect in these Zins is muted. There's even a momentary kind of "cheap wine" chemical taste that flashes through my head, though it doesn't stick. So, with that, I'm afraid the remaining bottles are slated for the mulled wine cauldron this holiday season.

Bought six bottles and kept them for a year. One of them was as bubbly as champagne when opened and undrinkable. Now I am worried if the remaining will pop in the wine rack.Have bought this wine before in stores and it was excellent which is why I ordered this but the quality of these bottles was much lower. Perhaps a bad year I dunno.

I love this wine. It is a rich full bodied wine full of flavor. Very smooth. A great compliment to any meal or just to sit back and relax with.
