I wouldn't really say mess free but it works great on small or delicate embellishments.I keep my container upside down so its always ready to go.

Like others, I was excited to use this glue sponge as I have a lot of die cuts that are intricate. However, the lid does not fit tightly enough to keep the glue from drying out. I thought if I put the sponge in a Tupperware container it would stay without drying out, but it got mildew in the container. Even with the original container, it took too long for the glue to come back to the top after being upside down and it couldn't be stored that way because the original lid would leak. Before the other container, I tried wrapping it with plastic wrap and then rubber bands around the container to keep the lid on tight but that didn't work either... it was a sticky mess.

I was very excited to try this product. First and only try was on a small lace paper leaf. Looked like a pre-K child glued it up! Very sticky! Stuck to my fingers and tore apart when I tried to glue it to my card. I do not recomend this product for paper projects!!!

Not impressed with my first use. Used it on black cardstock it didn't stick and left glue marks. I will try it again in something else to see if I like any better.

The glue is great. However the packaging is not. The top does not seal I used for a full day of scrapbooking, making die cuts etc. There is no way to travel with it without it leaking everywhere and the seal isn’t tight enough to even leave sit on the desk. There is also no instructions on how to apply. It’s a great product but they need to do better with packaging. I won’t buy again because of the packaging

I really wanted to love this product, but I don't. Like other reviews I've read, the glue is messy, sticks to my fingers, and doesn't stay on top of the sponge. I will try the suggestion from another reviewer to store it upside down. I'm also disappointed with the fact that the sponge swells (of course--that's what sponges do) and pushes the lid up, so it doesn't stay closed and dries out the sponge. I'm having to resort to taping the lid closed, which doesn't make it very convenient. I was hoping for something much different.

I really hoped this product would be the solution for my "delicate" gluing but it was even more messy than I anticipated. I had glue everywhere! My fingers were sticky and had to rinse hands between each item I wanted to glue. My fingers got sticky trying to press the intricate cutout on the sponge and it didn't coat the entire piece. I had to really press into the sponge which added to the sticky mess.The glue itself is very good but it creates such a mess that I'm sorry I made this purchase.

Great Idea, but not in reality. I'm disappointed in the product. The glue doesn't stay on the surface of the sponge, it drains quickly to the bottom. Needed to flip the sponge over to get the glue back to the surface. My fingers got tacky trying to press the intricate cutout on the sponge. It didn't coat the entire piece.
