Just WOW. One kick ass read.
Just a super read. This one starts on the island of Roanoke off the coast of North Carolina. The site of the base for the lost colony. Its a catalogue of the final days of that colony which is the basis of the mystery of the disappearance of the colony.Ellen Dare is there with a team to look for that final base. They are in a place no one has looked at before. In fact the fake town they set up isn't where the final base is. Dare thinks if she can find proof or buriel sites for the colonists it will go a long way in proving just exactly where that last camp was.Her intern, Josh, is digging and finds a bone. Its a long thin bone and Ellen quickly decides it not human. Well it is human. Kinda sorta.Jack Sigler is getting married in three days. The Chess team will be there even though they are still saddened by the death of Bishop, Eric Sommers.Jack sister Anya is now Bishop since the death of Eric Sommers. Personally I doubt Sommers is dead as no body was found. He will be back.Anya is one kick ass fighter but she's feeling like she will never be able to fill in for Sommers and she has doubts about her ability to do so.The Chess team goes into action to capture the leader of the El Sol drug cartel. They capture the man at his house. A house thats a shell and filled with feral pigs. King is wondering about the pigs even as they turn the man over to the Mexican authorities and head back for NH and his wedding.Senator Marrs, the enemy of Tom Duncan and the current Preident, is contacted by the brother of that cartel leader. He wants the men who captured his brother and he wants Marrs to make that happen. In return he will donate millions to Marr's campaign fund.Marrs meets with a man named Parrish to set this up.Sara Fogg, King's fiance, is headed to North Carolina. Seems there is a crisis there and Fogg, who works for the CDC, will have to fugure it all out.So begins one kick ass read. This one has Sigler, Sara, Ellen, Anya, the rest of the Chess team, Deep Blue, Lou Aleman, Dom Boucher, a raid on Endgame, the end of the facility in NH, the FBI, a plan by Marrs to win the Presidency, Admiral Ward, a Deep Blue doing what he can to save the Chess Team, wendingo's in North Carolina, Siglers sister Julie, a crazy man heading a cartel who thinks he's an Aztec god, tainted meat, death, destruction and one hell of a kick ass read.Five Stars and then some

Another winner about the best team of all!
I started reading Jeremy Robinson several years ago, back in the days of Antarktos Rising and Kronos. While I liked those books, I really got hooked when he started his Chess Team series. Ever since reading Pulse, I read all of his books (and only disliked one...) and I must say that the books about the Chess Team are his best. You will never find a better combination of action, excitement, monsters, history, science and humor than in these books! I'd advise anyone new to the series to just start at the beginning and read all the novels and novellas; you're in for a real treat. In this latest Chess Team book there is another incredible threat that the team has to deal with, and we also get more insight into the psychological make-up of some of the individual team members. I don't want to spoil the story for anyone and will just say that I found myself racing through the book and hating it when I finished the last pages. Especially after the surprise ending! Thankfully, there are several new books announced in the series, including the second one describing King's travels through time (2500 years....that should provide mr. Robinson with enough inspiration to write at least 25-30 books in this series.......).

Awesome Author
More greatness from the new master of action/suspense (actually he has been around a while- but only discovered, by me, about a year ago. Since then, I have literally devoured most of his novels and novellas- especially the Chess Team series and more recently, the Kaiju/Nemesis books. Now, I have purchased some of his horror stories, but have not read them yet. But getting back to this book, it is another great entry to the series. I especially like the conflict exhibited by Knight (my favorite character). My beef with the story is.... another multi-million dollar plane destroyed - the man has no concept of money!!!! Destruction and Mayhem is his forte. But, I LOVE it. For more recommendations, read my review of INSOMNIA. I just finished it. After writing this, I will get back to BENEATH, put on hold when the latest Chess Team book EMPIRE came out. See my review on that one too. I'm looking forward to meeting Jeremy at 'Robinsonfest' in a few months. I have most of his books to get signed.

I love this series!!!
Cannibal, the seventh book in the Chess Team series, combines two of my favorite legends with the awesomeness that is a Jack Sigler thriller. The legend of the Lost Roanoke Colony and the Native American legend of the Wendigo are brought together flawlessly along with fast paced action and terror that will leave you breathless. Along with saving the world the Chess Team must also deal with an old enemy who is hell bent on destroying all of them, and just might succeed this time round. I love the way that Jeremy Robinson and Sean Ellis create a richly detailed world and fill it with characters that feel like old friends to those of us that follow this series. I always hate finishing a Chess Team novel because I don't want the story to end. I can't wait for the next one!! I would highly recommend that if you haven't read these books yet you RUN (not walk) to your nearest bookstore and get started. You are missing out on some amazing stories. A fast paced and fabulous 5 star read.

Chess team rides again.
Being a bigger fan of ancient history rather than early colonial american, I wasnt as enamored of this entry as others. If it had a bit more Aztec history I would have jumped for 5 stars though that is just my preference. Also I was wanting a bit more info on the origin of the wedigo virus.
