Excellent product, can't imagine a better light pad!
I can't think of any way to improve upon this light pad. Can't be size because the user chooses what size will serve them best. This pad provides basically an 11.5" x 16.5" (20.18" diagonal) lighted work area which will facilitate any illustration (or portion of) I'm working on or provide the room to sort 35 or 40 slides simultaneously. Overall the pad feels well made and sturdy, though I will be careful not to put too much weight on it while working, and the materials used are high quality, especially the work surface. It uses a material that isn't soft but almost feels like it is because of the way it "grips" the paper preventing it from sliding, at least every paper type I've used so far, which I didn't expect. It's wonderful. Yet it easily allows me to release the paper for repositioning and facilitates the entire work process. I don't know if other manufacturers use a similar material, maybe they all do for all I know, but now that I've experienced it I can't imagine trying to work on a slick or slippery surface. Another feature that benefits my work process are the two adjustable fold-out legs (each capable of two positions or heights) that are attached by screws to the bottom of the pad at the corners of one of the long edges allowing the pad to be slanted in it's horizontal (landscape) orientation. Before I read the instructions I wondered how those who preferred using the pad in it's vertical (portrait) orientation would feel about that until I read the instructions which show you how to unscrew the legs, move and remount them by screwing them into the sets of "pre-drilled holes" along one of the short edges to slant the pad in a vertical orientation. Again, they seem to have thought of everything. The end result is the pad can easily be used flat or sloped to either of two heights by unfolding the sturdy legs (with non slip feet of course) and this can be done in either it's vertical or horizontal orientation. Can't get more versatile than that until you turn it on and adjust it to one of 10 brightness levels using the on/off switch. My thought was the switch would probably make a click and depress when I pressed it but it doesn't do either, you just "touch" it for a second or two to turn it on and off but, once on, each time you quickly touch the "button?" the light level changes by one setting. It's memory turns the pad on in whichever level the pad was in when you touched the on/off switch for the second or two required to turn it off. The lighting is not the harsh glaring type and the LEDs provide a nice even illumination across the entire work surface without "hot" or "cold" spots. Yet the illumination at it's highest setting easily penetrates multiple sheets of paper, of course how many depends on the weight of bristol, watercolor or other paper types being used. And of course, the AC adapter has a nice long cord to facilitate where the pad can be used. I can't imagine any light pad having a better design, using better materials or offering more versatility than this one and the only other factor I hope lives up to the rest is the pad's durability/longevity. I've got to give myself an A+ for choosing this pad and couldn't be happier with this purchase. I highly recommend this unit to anyone in the market for a high quality light pad.

Great for smaller drawings i do
Great for smaller drawings i do, I wish it were a few inches wider. the 18" is the diagonal measurement like a tv or desktop screen. I mistakenly thought it was the width. It is only 16ish" wide, i need 17. oh well. Great product for the price. Light weight, perfect lighting

Great Quality Light Pad!!!
I love this light pad. I did a bit of research before buying this particular one. I liked that it was made in Japan and that the lumens range (brightness level) went to 3200 for enhanced brightness. The small folding feet on the back are good for angling the light pad while in use. It was well packaged and is in a nice sturdy fitted box with a handle for storage and taking along to art classes. Hobby Lobby does have art bags that would easily hold it. Size is great and I love the quality.

Much better than I had anticipated
Much better than I had anticipated, very thin, sturdy, the build quality is top notch and the multi level brightness option is a nice touch that I didn't think I would use as much as I have. Whatever coating they've added to the drawing surface grips the paper perfectly so it doesn't slide off, but also doesn't prevent me from shifting my work when needed, I love it! The packaging was excellent and even included a thin protective sleeve, overall I'm extremely happy and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quality light table!

... light on one of Amazon's lightening deals for a great price. I love this tracing light
I purchased this tracing light on one of Amazon's lightening deals for a great price. I love this tracing light. It is large, thin and nice looking. It comes with batteries and an adapter for convenience. It also has a great light feature in that it has ten levels of light. Another feature which is useful is the fold down legs for using at an angle. The tracker can be angled horizontally or vertically simply by moving them and screwing them into the appropriate holes. I would definitely recommend this tracing pad to others.
