Black Indian Ink: Warm when watered down, waterproof, good.
Needed a black ink since inktober is around and I didn't want to buy markers to colour in large swathes of paper. I've used Windsor&Newton products before and they've never let me down.Ink is good and solid, with a bit of a warm grey-brown when watered down. Holds up and doesn't spread once it's dried and the colour doesn't fade much even when I erase over it.Downsides: since it's water proof ink, I can't re-wet it on the palette once it's dried out which makes me sad. I've just got one section of the palette that's a giant black blob now because of this ink lol.Attached are two images I made with this ink. They were uploaded to my instagram so there are some filters on there, but I think it shows off the colours pretty well. (Instagram: @ozzy_doodles)

This is the India ink you're looking for.
Finally, a solid, opaque, actually waterproof ink! Oh, how I have searched for you.Heavily pigmented, the ink flows smoothly and is relatively to create different variations of lines and circles. Plays well with other mediums, stands up to watercolor paints and/or alcohol based markers over the top of it. This ink does everything I wish all the other inks I own would do. Winsor Newton India Ink is now at the top of my list. I'm telling everyone about this ink!

FANTASTIC INK!
Wonderful ink- I chose this over the less expensive speedball ink (which is also great) because that container has a tendency to leak when moved around. The Windsor and Newton ink is rich and silky, goes on really black and dries pretty quickly. No bad odour or fluid inconsistency. Comes with a dropper so you can do even more experimental Ralph Steadmanesque techniques if so inclined. Top of the range for pen and ink work and illustrations.

Hands down the BEST Indian Ink!
Hands down the best Indian ink there is. Dark, shiny, impervious to water--so, so great for inking in and then using with watercolors. Also, the design on the bottle always makes me smile. I have a difficult to impossible time finding this locally (and I live in a major metropolitan area), so thank you Amazon!

Love this!
I was told by many other artist that this was the ink I should buy if I want a good water resistant (when dry) black ink, but it was even more impressive than I was I was told. The black is so much darker and richer then I had imagined. When using it next to some of my other black art supplies they don't even come close to how dark this ink looks on paper. This product is more then worth buying.

Black and Gold (Black, three stars) (Gold, five stars.)
GOLD (FIVE STARS)One of my favorite products I have ever purchase. It is a great accent for almost any art piece and I highly recommend it. Getting through a small area, though, still requires vigorous shaking multiple times. But it is well worth it and I absolutely adore the product. There are often some areas that need a second coat because even on the paper itself (140lbs/300gsm cold press watercolor paper), the ink does separate which is to be expected of most gold/silver/metallic inks.BLACK (THREE STARS)Winsor and Newton claim that their black ink to be water resistant and though I am aware that water resistant does absolutely not mean waterproof, this ink is not even water resistant. I could easily lift it off of my (watercolor) paper even after it had dried overnight. Perfect for washes, however, because it seems to be pretty water soluble. Good quality ink, just not water resistant at all.

Nice solid black.
Love Winsor and Newton Black Indian ink. It is a deep black and does not fade out as you use it.
