Works great, even for a lighter approach to heavier tasks
Used this to get a good, clean cut on a butcher block countertop. Everything went fine until the saw just stopped progressing. It still ran, but it felt like something was snagging preventing it from moving farther. Couldn't figure out why.Used it for a few other projects and the same thing happened. FINALLY I figured it out. It comes with a 24t blade, which is rather coarse, but still makes a nice clean cut when it's working. What was happening is that too fast a cut with such a coarse blade puts a bigger load on the saw. The drive shaft on the saw has two flats to locate and drive the retention washer, BUT NOT THE BLADE. And the blade retention screw was only snug. So when the going got tough, the blade stopped but the drive shaft didn't. I tightened the blade screw (left hand thread) and it worked fine. It's not for heavy-duty work, but now it's my go-to circular aw even for heavier tasks because it's easier and more maneuverable to use. It just takes a lighter touch. All the accessories work well, with the exception that the vacuum attachment could work better.

good points to consider.
It's a wicked nice storage case. The adjustments appear to be correct, as per the descriptions on Amazon's sales page, and it worked well when tested. I wish I had seen this unit earlier, as it would have been my first choice! Tkanks WEN for another great tool to get chores completed with ease.

Decent value for the money.
Visual inspection revealed overall fit & assembly fine. Locking knobs are robust and lock firmly. Blade changing was basic and had no issues. Blade guard works smoothly when starting your cut. Now the reasons for four stars. During inspection it was quite noticeable this saw was not going to cut a 90 degree cut due to the depth level gauge was bent at the base plate pivot point. This was a easy repair and is now cutting a clean 90 degrees. If you are into gadgets (for myself this was not why a purchased this saw) the laser did start at the cutting guide on the base plate then veers off. The owners manual does not list any form of adjustments and I do not see any. From my experience shimming the laser assembly would be in order. Actual cut line did match cutting guide on base plate.I spent much time researching for a small circular saw to add to my shop and overall the saw does perform well. It runs very smooth and he gives me that extra cutting versatility. The saw will be used occasionally which was my game plan. Coming from the machine tool repair field, I would rate this saw light commercial obviously not for industrial use. For my last comment. Due to the size and location of the dust port, keep your dust mask out.

Good small circular saw for small jobs
I purchased this saw for one particular job…. To cut off the bullnose on 20 original stair treads at my home (so that I could install hardwood re-treads). After cutting off the first two with a 7-1/4” circular saw and finishing the cuts on either end with an oscillating saw, I wanted something smaller that left a smaller amount to cut off with the oscillating saw. For the price, this saw got the job done and it was easier and more accurate than the larger circular saw. The saw had enough power to get through the 1” pine treads but struggled a couple of times. The laser helped to make for more accurate cuts on the individual stair treads. The saw could only get to within 2-1/2” or so of the end of the stair tread and I still needed to use an oscillating saw to cut the rest off. I knew I would still need to use the oscillatory saw but was hoping to get a little closer to the edge with this smaller saw. The rail that came with the saw seemed a bit flimsy and I chose not to use it to help make for straight lines (feared it might come loose and the cut line would drift). Additionally, I had to start in the middle of the tread and cut one way, and then flip the saw around and cut the other way. I would have rated this saw 4 stars on its performance alone, but when I consider the price, it warranted 5 stars. I would recommend this to others for small jobs, particularly in tight places.

Really nice compact saw
This is the fourth WEN power tool I have bought and I'm impressed with the quality and price of each one. I have used this saw on just some small projects and it is much easier to use than my full size circular saw. It's qwick and efficient and has plenty of power. The case is a nice addition to the package and even has storage for extra blades. I only wish I would have bought it sooner!

Won’t take up too much storage space
I’m worried because the manufacturer packaging has been opened previously. When I buy new higher priced merchandise I like for it to be unopened when possible. Full review after I unbox and use the saw.

It can be a very handy tool depending on the job.
I’ve had this saw for a couple of years now. I originally gave it 3 stars, but after using it more I realized that it’s really quite good for some applications. There is a bit of a learning curve on getting used to how to use it.I have come to use this tool for doing a lot of basic cuts in 2x lumber. I use it a lot when repairing decks. It cuts well once you get the hang of it. I recommend using a speed square as a cutting guide to keep your cuts straight. The thing I like most about it is that it is compact and can get into places a full sized circular saw cannot. It’s also very lightweight so it doesn’t wear you out. To be clear, if you are framing up something from scratch and cutting 2x4,6,8,10s etc on a saw horse, I’d use a good quality circular saw.But if you’re doing some kind of repair to an existing structure, perhaps on a ladder or in a tight area then this may be what you need. For deck boards or 2x lumber it cuts great. At first it will seem awkward because you are holding like you would a flashlight. It just takes some getting used to.
