Great size. Looks good. Love the lid so I can shut it and it doesn’t even look like an ashtray. Even my husband called it a “great find”. Paid less than $10. Worth it.

This thing is invincible. I bought it because it was pretty and to add some functional decor to my patio but this thing has survived a lot. We had a bad ice storm that ended up filling it with water and it freezing solid to the point the lid got "popped" off and throw 5ft away, and neither part crack or chipped. It got frozen to the table and I had to use a rubber mallet to get it off - no issue. My dog has knocked it off the table a few times from the side table and onto cement and no damage. It sits in the hot sun in my yard all summer with no issue. I am really surprised how well this thing holds up.

I've used this device for the past week and very pleased with it in maintaining ash and butts. Although the center piece is used to hold the cigarette when resting along the notches, I add water to this center piece to extinguish my cigarettes when done. I leave the extinguished cigarette in the bowl and will clean it out as needed. After a day of rain, water did make its way inside, which is okay. An ideal ashtray will have a small water reservoir to quickly extinguish lit cigarettes, adequate capacity for butts, and a heavy container to keep it steady and windproof. Designing an ashtray to accommodate a flame-proof bag to hold used butts and ash is great for quick and easy disposal. As for a water reservoir, I can use a metal bottle cap from a wine bottle. The center piece is either glued or soldered in place so I'll find a work around.
