Quickie HomePro Automatic Scrub-a-Mop with Microban

Works well but wish original metal version was still built
Generally high quality performance. Manufacturer has cheapened design with more plastic and less metal. This used to be very durable. I withhold judgment on today's design until I use test it. I really would pay more and get metal frame. How about you???

way better for grooved tile - no more scrubbing on hands & knees!
great for my tile that has grooves and has challenged me with a normal swiffer type product. note you aren't supposed to use vinegar with this.. but what I did rather than soaking it in vinegar, I still put some on the tile to make sure it got clean. worked like a charm and cut down on my cleaning time so much!!

Home Pro Mop
This is my 3rd homepro mop. They are the best and last forever. I bought this one for new house but still using old ones for home and another for humane society that I purchased over 10 years ago. Sponges aren't cheap but they last a long time and are much larger than most other sponges.

Know what you are getting!
There are mops, and then there are mops. This is a Quickie mop. It has a "Microban" head on it. It is blue.It squeezes in "butterfly" fashion (i.e., it folds in half to squeeze out water). At the end of this squeeze, it snaps a bit sending water into the area around you. It absorbs water, but it does so SLOWLY... This means it is NOT good for cleaning up large spills! But the Microban feature, which, I am convinced, is part of the reason it absorbs water slowly, gives it large surface area and therefore scrubbing "power." It is a good mop for cleaning a floor, but you will drive yourself crazy trying to mop up a spilled glass of milk with it.I use my quickie for cleaning the kitchen floor. If there is an actual spill on that floor, I grab a large sponge. But for getting that floor clean, I can recommend the Quickie. Have been using for about two months now and it is still holding up.Update: I said "Still holding up" just then. Not so, not so. Not long after I wrote that review the sponge ripped right off the squeeze plate. There was no simple reattaching it: it had torn. Such are the costs of regular use. The manufacturer is probably well aware of this. It's probably called something like "Anticipated product failure" or something.BUT!I am a clever guy with some tools around. I got out some industrial strength hot glue and in less than five minutes had re-secured the sponge to the squeeze plate. It has not come off since, and that was a few months ago. If it ever does come off again, it will get another round of hot glue. Not the easiest solution for everyone, but it has worked well for me and I still use this mop a lot.I feel like downgrading my review to 3 stars because of the failure of the mop head, but I still get a lot of use out of it so am leaving it at 4. For now, anyway.Update, early August,2013:The mop continues to hold up on the original mop sponge that I hot glued into place. I decided yesterday that I just had to replace it because, well, it had been so LONG. So I went out and bought a competitor's sponge pad that I knew would not fit (it was what they had at the local hardware store), brought it home, and sat down to replace the sponge......I had to literally rip the old sponge off! The hot glue had held so well that it took substantial effort to remove the old mop head! Once I was done, I hot glued the new mop head to the mop (after ripping off the plastic brace that was never going to fit my mop) and presto! Perfectly good mop, once again! Not that it wasn't perfectly good before, actually, but, well, you get the picture. The mop heads made by Quickie are clearly designed to fail way, WAY before they are due to be discarded. Hot glue, Baby! It must have tripled the life expectancy of the mop head I used just because it held on like a grip of death. I don't expect to replace the new mop head for at least another six months. If then.

Best of its kind that I've found.
It's getting hard to find a really heavy duty sponge mop; my cleaners keep breaking them by scrubbing too hard or trying to wring out a dry sponge . This is the best I've found at any price. The full-width scrubbing brush is great and gets into corners. The Type H sponges are better than most, although their attachments are plastic.

Didn't hold up well.
Bought it a few months ago to mop the 2 small upstairs bathrooms. It worked well but the sponge ripped off the holder that it was glued to. The sponge itself is in good shape. I think that I'll look for a new mop.
