Clicking sounds is a nuisance while watching movies.
The item was received and packaged well. The purpose of me buying the item is to play movies and also to listen to music. I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch 2019. When you plug in the item is starts up almost immediately. Once I put in a CD to watch a movie you can hear all the gears/components working. That is to be expected. However, once the movie commenced I did not expect to hear a lot of clicking sounds during the movie. Yes, I let the movie play for a while. The noise continued. I removed the movie and then put in a CD to listen to music. Again, you hear the gears/components working. This time the clicking sounds were not heard. I did personally have trouble playing music unless it was played through QuickTime. I attribute this to being new to my computer and am still learning the system. Ejecting the disk was not easy to find on the computer as it was not highlighted/giving me the option to eject. Once the disk was ejected I put in another movie thinking there may have been a problem with the first one. Unfortunately, the clicking sounds continued. As you will notice by the video I submitted, the sounds were still heard while the movie was playing. It appears that the DVD-RW makes these sounds when I play movies and not music. According to the manual, it is suppose to be low noise. For me it is not low enough. Especially during scenes where there is silence. I am curious if other buyers are experiencing this. Perhaps I've purchased a lemon. Sorry to say that it will be returned after one final try.

Excellent External Drive
This was very easy to use. I had a software disc for another device that I had to download and this external drive came in handy, just plug into the USB port and go. DVD's play well, I was prompted to select a media player app from the Microsoft store so I installed a good 'free' version and was good to go.

plug and go, seems to work great
was a little worried given other reviews, this seems to work fine for me though, plugged it in, it shows up in my devices and am able to burn items on cd and dvd with no issues. nice and sleek

Makes Noise
I got this product because I needed to be able to watch old CDs that I had. It works pretty easily for my Mac Pro. The only downside is that it makes a lot of noise. Kinda sounds like white noise from an airplane or a machine running. I don't know how I will watch movies while trying to listen past the noise, but nonetheless, it works.
