this is a wonderful way to start grain spawn if you don't want to go the liquid culture route! I'm not sure if this is Black Pearl King Oyster and have reached out to ask but haven't gotten a response - so I'll just have to find out when they fruit!Mycelium was thick like a brick when it arrived in a Ziplock bag - it came with instructions on how to grow mushrooms in straw- but I wanted grain spawn from it and after one day of shredding it down - its already taken to the winter hard red wheat berries to my surprise!Came super-fast as well!Price was only $1 more than buying a 10-122cc syringe of liquid culture that may or may not be contaminated and then you must start from scratch soooo it was nice to skip that step!I just wish I knew if this was Black King Pearls or not.Would buy their other varieties in the future to skip the hassle of liquid culture to make more grain spawn and have recommended to my friends to get this if they want to grow oysters in buckets!

I ordered different mycelium form several sellers. All of others were fresh and grew well. This one is very old and dry, it must have been stored for a very long time. Nothing grew out it.

I did not like that my shipment weight was half of what was ordered. 52 grams came, but 100 grams was advertised.

Shipment shipped on time! Great product came with instructions on how to inoculate substrate! I can't wait until they fruit!

in fact so healthy, it had already started forming mycelium when i opened the box. i am very satisfied with the quality, just would prefer to have more control when i want to kick off the growth process.

No growth after about 3 weeks already.

This is my first time growing mushroom. They made it easy with step by spent instructions and help when needed. The product looks great and is healthy when arrived.

Too difficult to make it grow.
