Review: Two thumbs up for this one. - Another great read by Kelly, Spoiler alert. This one starts with a Kate who's very worried about her sister who's in Boston living with her abusive boyfriend. Kate tried to stop her from going back to him but Lindsay would hear none of it and left to be with Ice. Kate is still working for Section One and right now they are investigating the murder of a young woman. A woman who was killed using a knife that was the murder weapon used a decade earlier. Kate is also becoming attracted to Noah Foster. Foster is an Iraq war vet who lost part of his leg to an IED. This hasn't slowed him down one bit. He's a animal vet and a guy who takes the time to enjoy life and he and Kate are getting closer. Lt. Oz brings in Det. Kingsley who's a PhD and has been in the department a long time. He works the cold cases and the decade old murder is now being looked at by Section One and the only tie they have is the knife that was used in both murders. So begins one damned fine read. This one has Kate, Bernie, Noah, Lt. Oz, Kingsley, the rest of Section One, a man named Colin Russell, three letters that were left to Kate by her birth mother, Natalie, Mo, Nana and the rest of Kate's wacky friends, the FBI, Kate's old friend FBI Agent Joe Dawson, the swarm, attacks all across America, a Kate who contacts Hud for a time out, a Hud who will be out of the country for a few weeks, a weekend in Hawaii for Kate and Noah, a Kate still looking for her birth Father, a Kate who finds herself drawn to Noah Foster, murder, attempted murder, Kate's sister Lindsay, Ice and Kate Sexton and her crew doing their best to figure the whole thing out and stay alive. Five Stars. Review: Another great MZ Kelly novel - Love the characters. Detective Kate and her friends never disappoint. The ending was unexpected and you have me on the edge my seat was time g Tom ow what happens next. I could read this series forever.

Good story
I hadn't read any of the M.Z. Kelly alphabet books until now, I will be reading more of them. Well written book, I only got confused by the story two times. There are a couple stories within the story and I had trouble keeping them straight but over all this is a very good book.

I Hate Cliffhangers!
I have read over half the books in this series, and all have a part of Kate's search for her biological father as a continuing story to the next book, but none is a cliffhanger until this book. If there is a cliffhanger the author should make that plain before the book is purchased. Kate has several things going on in this book. One, she has a current homicide that appears tied into a death from several years ago. Also, 'the Swarm' is becoming reactivated and Kate spends a part of this book involved with an FBI investigation that takes her to Denver and Boston. She tries to rescue her sister Lindsey from an abuser. She has an ongoing feud with her temporary partner which impedes her investigations. An envelope containing 3 letters her mother had written to her before her death turns up, and Kate is hesitant to read each one. And Kate is working to resolve her feelings between an old fling and Dr. Noah Foster, who becomes her new love interest. This book was easily a 5 star until the cliffhanger ending.
