Quality control is poor. If you find that the locking mechanism works ...
here's what to expect - you will need to spend extra time to modify the lock so that it will work properly. Quality control is poor.If you find that the locking mechanism works fine uninstalled but binds after installation, take these steps:1 - check to make sure that the lock is centered on the EDGE of the door. If the screws drawing the lock together are not tightened evenly, the lock will end up off center and it will bind.2- if centered and still binds, you will have to shorten the cross pin that connects the linkage, as it is too long and binds on the inside of the lock. I used a 4" grinder but you could also use a file if you have all day. Take a little off each side until the lock moves freely when tightened.3- before final installation, add a small drop of 3in1 or similar oil to each point of metal to metal contact - this will help the action and also extend the life of the lock. Also, I had to do some filing on the pull tab so that it did not bind on the side.Good luck

Builder-quality, works just fine.
Works as expected, mechanical components function well without binding. Average quality, fit/finish is typical for stamped metal plates and builder-quality mechanism. The pull-out tab for closing the door is sometimes hard to poke in the right spot to get it to lean out. The lock works fine, but be advised you will need to have everything lined up exactly right to get it to latch/unlatch smoothly. So, if your door doesn't meet the jamb plumb, or if it's wobbly in the track and swings a little bit, you could have some slop where the latch enters the latch plate. Wasn't hard to install at all.One other note, it increases the width of your pocket door by 3/16th of an inch or so. It's not designed to be flush mounted, although I suppose you could. The roundover on the metal trim plate wouldn't look good recessed. That means that if your pocket trim is very tight to the door, this latch could brush the trim as it fully enters the pocket (door all the way open). Since most pocket doors have a little bit of side to side movement, that could make a difference with the added thickness at the plates.

A good replacement for an off-brand door latch
The pocket door in my apartment originally came with some sort of knock-off pocket door hardware that had extreme difficulty latching and which got stuck all the time. It was also visibly dented/abused by the contractors that installed it (or maybe the folks that owned this place before me). I bought this latch to replace the existing one, and it has a very nice finish, a smooth action, and installed with basically the exact same hole layout. The only issue you may have installing it is that there is a slight counter-sink to the "strike plate", such that it will stick off the wall slightly. It's not very noticeable after tightening down the screw. I'm quite pleased with how easy it was to install. It feels like it will last quite a long time, though these things are pretty simple inside.

Sub par quality - Ill fitting parts
As some others have mentioned, the various pieces of the lock don’t fit together well. A considerable amount of ‘fiddling’ with it required to get it installed and working properly. Lock mechanism does not turn smoothly.I had thought of Schlage as a quality brand. That may not be true these days.Would not buy again. Do not recommend.

Door must be 1 3/8 or wider, and instructions are useless.
Lining up the catch plate requires some thinking. The instructions are useless for guidance. Think about how the latch has to engage with the catch plate and line up the inner edge of the catch plate with the tooth on the latch. Not rocket science but don't blindly follow the instructions saying to center the catch plate on the latch. Also, if the lock side is squeezed because the door is less than 1 3/8", then the lock won't turn. If that is a problem, then you can grind off the inner pin inside of the lock where the sides of the lock are holding that pin. But if the door is normal width (mine was), there should be no problem.

Underwhelmed
After waiting 8 days for a product that was advertised as being in stock and would arrive in 2 prime days, we were decidedly unimpressed to receive a box that appeared to have been run over by a truck. Don't think this item is supposed to look like this but will know more when installation (which should have been last week, had the item arrived when advertised before submitting order) is attempted. Shipments have been arriving in a timely fashion but for this to take so long and arrive damaged is very disappointing. Makes me want to risk venturing out and shopping locally versus getting damaged goods and having no time to return them.

The brushed nickel finish looks great! This only took a couple of minutes to ...
I bought this to replace a similar brass-colored lock on a bathroom pocket door that was old and busted. The brushed nickel finish looks great! This only took a couple of minutes to install on the door after I removed the old lock. Initially, I wasn't able to get the lock to catch on the opposing plate. However, this wasn't any fault with the lock... the house had settled and the door was no longer plumb. Since I got that sorted out, the lock now catches easily and holds the door firmly shut without being too tight. Note: this model has a slot on the outside that makes the door easily opened with a coin or similarly small, flat-edged object. This makes it safer to install on a bathroom door just in case another family member slips and hurts themselves or something; if you want more 'security' you'll want to look at another model.

Good replacement
Like others have commented the locking mechanism sticks and is very difficult to use requiring lube and working the mechanism multiple times with pliers. Yes you can’t turn the lock without using pliers it’s that difficult. Other than that I’m okay with it. It’s for master bath pocket door which we never lock. I mean who locks pocket doors? My fear is it will accidentally lock and then you’ll be stuck.

Terrible lock, could be a second production line. The inner tumbler lock has a cheap metal pin that comes off.
Look at the photos. This cheap lock the rotating tumbler is held by this crap little pin.The item was tested before installing and the damn pin came off. There is no locking ends so any movement the pin would work its way out and then you are screwed if the door is locked.

Looks nice.
I have to turn the knob and then slide the door shut to get it to latch. I have to tell people that visit to do that. It's much stiffer than the one I replaced.
