These scissors are pretty sharp, but I found that the screw of the thinning scissors unscrews during use. I do not know if it was a manufacturing error, however this defect makes them unusable.

Excellent quality and great price, although the size is not what I expected: they're shorter than 6".

I have only used these scissors three times and they are already dull. I feel like I'm working with kindergarten scissors.

Good quality, nice look, great to use

I am not a hairstylist by any means, but do like to be able to trim my bangs and loose hairs at home from time to time. I had been using scissors I had around the house that were not intended for hair (kitchen shears, craft scissors, you name it.) Since these never seemed to work well for numerous reasons, I had been looking for a nice pair of sharp haircutting scissors that I could use. The reason I settled on this set was due to the included hair thinning shears, which are great for my hair. My hair strands are thin, but I have a ton of them, which always makes my hair somewhat bulky. It's great being able to get rid of some of this bulk at home!This set comes in a really nice zippered case, which is great at protecting them if you keep them in a drawer full of other products, like I do. They come well oiled (I actually had to wipe the hinge off a bit as they still had some oil on them,) and extremely sharp. They cut through my bangs very easily and in a much straighter line than the other pairs I had been using. You can really tell the difference that a sharp pair of scissors make in getting the exact cut you want.Both pairs are very comfortable to hold, although some sort of padding would maybe be nicer if you were going to use these for extended periods of time. Since I just use them for trims, I find them to fit perfectly and comfortably. My husband also enjoys "borrowing" them to trim his mustache and beard hairs as well, and they have had no issues with cutting through the thicker, more coarse hairs. They are holding up well, and the hinges so far have been working flawlessly. I am not a hairstylist and not visiting one often because I have a long hair and I love it in the way it is. The only one thing is I love to align the length of the hair once in a while. It was really hard to make with just a regular kitchen/household scissors that I own. Also, I have small kids that are so energetic and there is no way they will seat in a hairstylist chair. It is true when people saying that a stay home mom have lots of different occupations and I am a chef, doctor, cleaner, hairstyles, etc. That set is so perfect for cutting hair for my toddler, they aren't big just a little bit over 5". They are really sharp and easy to work with. It is easy to use after kids bath time so their hair would still be wet. Just brush the hair with a flat hair brush and cut it with this knife. I love that that set is includes texturing/thinning shears scissors as well. I love to use them, they make a fairly clean cut and don't pull off the hair while cutting. Also, I am using cutting scissors to align the eyebrows. They doing a great job in this case since they are fairly small and easy to operate with.I am not sure if they would be the best pick for professional barbers but they will make a great set for a family use.
