Extreme Brewing, A Deluxe Edition with 14 New Homebrew Recipes: An Introduction to Brewing Craft Beer at Home

As the title implies, this is not a book for beginners or those who wish to brew middle-of-the-road beers. It DOES offer great insight into ways to push the envelope and brew out-of-the-ordinary beers.

This is a very enjoyable book. I enjoy Sam's commercial brews from Dogfish, too. I do wish that Sam had included the all-grain versions of the recipes, though.

good reading

I got this after watching the episode on Brew Masters about the "Bitches Brew" stout. It was helpful insofar as I was able to parse out a clone recipe. There's also a recipe for 60 minute IPA that I plan to brew in a month or so - so it was a good investment.

but would like to see the addition of full grain. I know it is somewhat easy to add the base malts. Adding a couple of different brewing techniques would be helpful.

Great book for a beginner/intermediate or anyone who is interested in expanding their brewing repertoire.I like that this book doesn't diminish how useful extracts can be for Brewers who have limited time/resources.

Its a good book for the starting brewer. Needs more recipes and ideas for the advanced brewer looking to up his game.

This book has incredible recipes and advices, as well as some pretty good information. But don't expect a "how to design a beer" book, I would recommend it to any home brewer looking for more insight and knowledge. It is an overall great book

I didn't like this book because it is almost just recipes and they all, yes all, are only with extract, no all-grain version. I difficultly see how you can be extreme if you just brew with extract. So, if you are an all-grain, you could buy this book if you just want to take some ideas to make your own "extreme recipe". I'd give a better rating if it was clearly announced like it.

Really disappointed with this. Flicked through a couple of times and have found that it's completely useless to me. Hardly anything on All-Grain. How can anyone refer to extract brewing as extreme?
