Big, Bold and Beautifully Unique - Wang Buds are welcome surprise
First off these are earbuds not IEM. You won't get a seal like an IEM and noise isolation is not a feature here. With these factors in mind, I still was skeptical about the sound quality because I'm a fan of IEMs in general. I'm not a super bass head, however I do appreciate some good thump where necessary. These are not for the bass head crowd, but rather folks looking for nice separation and balance leaning toward mids and highs. At higher volumes though it can get brutal.I bought these because I needed something that didn't block out the noise and was better than the standard buds that come with a smartphone (which is becoming more rare now). I also bought them because of the duel drivers. My other headphones are the Sony XBA-3, V-moda LP Crossfades, UrBeats (broken) and MEElectronics M6. Looking at my list, it looks like I favor bass, with price being a consideration. The WangBuds are a nice addition to my collection of headphones. I decided I needed quality buds so I didn't have to take them out to talk to people or get startled because I could not hear them. I also didn't want to take too much of a step down in sound quality and wanted a unique design and duel drivers. I probably would not have picked these up if I didn't get a great deal for them, but they have been on my watch list since they came out mid 2012.Some concerns I have read about, but now can speak to even though I've only had them for about 8 hours:Fit: Very comfortable and less intrusive than IEMs. Ear hooks are similar to the ones found on Jawbone headsets. They actually stay on even though they are heavier than standard buds. These are designed for all day wear and comfort in mind.Sound: Bass isn't as deep, but again, you can't compare buds to IEMs. Maybe I'm wrong here, but I've not encountered earbud style that had the same quality of bass you can get from an IEM. Overall its balanced with accoustics and vocals coming in clear and not too high pitch.Design: Unique. I compared these with the Marshall Minors which are very slick, but I was concerned about the quality issues I read about. The fit on the Minors were much harder toget used to in my opinion but man are those pretty to look at. The Wang Buds don't have a shine to them and very understated, however the have a nice weight and matte finish to them. The ear "socks" would need getting used to, but once you get the fit, its really nice to not have to feel discomfort after extended use. These are my initial first impressions and will update once I have more time with them...

These ear buds were just garbage when I got them, but there's a solution...
These ear buds were just garbage when I got them. None of the ear bud tips fit my ears enough to really bring out the bass and everything just sounded so thin. I felt that I wasted money when I got them. Well 2 years later I really wanted to make these work so I attached in-ear sennheiser tips on top of the existing silicon tips that came with them. Unbelievable. These things sound amazing. I really think that they should offer in ear tips as part of the package to give people an option. For the dual driver and the size of these they really want to be in ear headphones instead of just ear buds.SOLUTION:I do recommend that people who have bought these and have them lying around to try this. I'm using tips from a sennheiser CX-300 and with a little effort you can slip these onto the white silicone tips that came with the Fanny Wang buds. I know this defeats the purpose of them being earbuds but in my opinion I'd rather having something instead of crap. You can also buy these tips on ebay for around $6 and you'll get a variety of sizes to try out. I might end up gluing these tips to the fanny wang ones to keep from losing them. The quality of these so far have been impressive. The cord and cable protection is very well done with a thick cable and protection at the earbuds and the jack. The triangular section of the cord is something different and seems to keep them from tangling in my bag which is a plus. The inline mic and controls are a nice addition as well.
