Southwire 55043321 300 Volt 25-Feet 14-Gauge 3 Conductor 14/3 Quantum TPE SJEOOW Portable Flexible Power Cord; Black

I absolutely love this wire. Instead of having to deal with running wires and cutting conduit everywhere, this is far easier to work with. 14 gauge is rated up to 18 amps which is more than enough for most applications. I used this on some pool wiring, and before the code police get out of control, everything in my set up has been reduced to 115 volt, so this is well above the voltage and amperage requirements. It’s also far easier to work with than 14 or 12 gauge THHN wire. Especially when connecting it to 16 gauge wire in equipment like an automatic salt generator box. It’s rated to handle water, oil, etc. and if you need to disconnect equipment to store every winter, this is a far more flexible solution.To cut it I just used a box cutter, lightly doing a circle and then pull right off. Then cut the extra insulation and then quickly used pliers to expose the wire for the connection. If you’re wiring 115 volt external applications, this will make your life easy. Technically, you might be out of code, but I put the wire in the ground in a 3/4” hard gray conduit anyway, just to be safe.The major advantages to this wire, is coming out of pool filters and salt generators, you can use a 1/2” round adapter, like in my photo, to achieve IP68 water resistance.

I have a project of refurbishing an old Electro-Mechano 8-inch Precision Drilling Machine (a medium/small high-speed drill press in layman's terms), and part of that work will include replacing the wiring. I wanted to replace it with suitable wiring as close in outside jacket dimensions as possible. Unfortunately, most wire dimensions aren't disclosed- even on the manufacturer's own websites. But on a lark, I thought I'd try this.As it happens, the Electro-Mechano 101U and 105W motors and brackets I have use 16-strand braided wire, but the outer jacket measures from .350" to .375" in diameter (I don't know why the variance, but there it is). I wanted replacement wire with an outer jacket as close to this, due to the grommets. This Southwire measures a solid .375" in diameter (without compressing the jacket), which is perfect. The three-conductor wires each are comprised of 41 strands of roughly 0.010" diameter strands (near as I can measure with my calipers, and I don't feel like going downstairs to retrieve the micrometer). The Southwire is rated at a higher amperage than the original wire- which is fine with me. I'd rather have a more durable, more robust (while still being highly flexible) wire anyway. And as far as I can tell, the flexibility is on par with the original wire when it was new (now it's old, cracked and hard). The new wire may actually be more flexible than the original wire when it was new, due to the newer materials and manufacturing processes.I am VERY happy with this Southwire 55043321 300-volt 14-gauge 3-conductor wire, and I wouldn't hesitate to order it again for any project which calls for similar wire.Incidentally, I am using Leviton 5266-CA 15 Amp, 125 Volt, Angle Plugs, and the wire fits just fine.

Got exactly what was advertised, and was packaged well. Unfortunately, I discovered after ordering that my trailer needed a larger gauge, so I had to return this. No problems returning, which confirms shopping through Amazon is as risk-free as going to a retail store.

The cord on my 30 year old shop vac had gotten hard and all spiraled up, so I thought I would replace it with something more flexible. Turns out this is the exact cord that was on it. Not a big deal for what I paid for this cord (sjeoow). Just means that in another 10-15 years this cord will do the same thing. Wish I hadn't been so frugal and bought the sjoow now.

I used this to replace wiring under a RV slide, and it worked very well.
