Another adventure for the children.
This one is set on an island inhabited only by birds, far out in the sea, and involves the children with gunrunners, who kidnap Bill and disable the motor and radio in his boat, leaving the children stranded on the island. I enjoyed reading it.

An excellent story in the series.
Well, frankly, all the books are excellent. I've had to differentiate the stories on quality of conversion from the originals, the quality of editing and other such stuff. If there were any typos or conversion errors in this book, I missed them. It seems to be the best adaptation of the lot.As with all of Enid Blyton stories, elements can be found in other books of hers. That is fine, as it rarely interferes with the plot. It also let her be prolific in every age range she wrote for, as it reduced the work involved.

I felt like I was there while reading it.
I enjoyed it and felt like I spent time in Scotland again. Well written fun. It is set on an island of birds. Enough fun in a book, but can you imagine being there really. Have you had a bird pick you out as special?A definite adventure.

The Enid Blyton books were great when I was a kid, and they are great now.
I am a grandmother of four and both my daughter and daughter in law are very selective about the books their children read. I remembered how much I loved the Enid Blyton books when I was a young girl and suggested them as Christmas gifts for the children. There is so much rubbish out there today and the mothers were delighted to have books so readable and enjoyable AND age appropriate.Olive Wolff, New Mexico

Typisch Enid Blyton

My nine year old grandson loves this series. I've had to change some of the descriptive words as I read but other than that this book was fine. The Castle of Adventure was more dated in its description of the girl from a very poor family refereed to at times with adjectives used for animals. Overall I change the text as I need to do it's less classist or racist.
