Bought this to replace and upgrade a 1A power supply. It has lasted 3 years.
Bought this to replace a faulty 1A power supply that came with a string of LED lamps. It has worked since winter of 2020 but it has become hinky over the last two or three days causing the LED's to blink for several minutes before coming solidly on. Suspect an intermittent open or a failing diode – in the rectifier circuit attributable to poor quaility components or shoddy workmanship. Can't say exactly as the unit is sealed. But for $8.xx, I guess one shouldn't expect a lot of quality nor quality control. Sigh.Update: 05032022. It has died completely. Hoping the second replacement has been made in the USA to a hight quality control standard.A tangential thought regarding made in China electronic components and gadgets: It is common, if not universal practice when soliciting bids to award such bids to the lowest bidder. After reading Mark Greaney's (Tom Clancy's appointed successor) Threat Vector, I hope our national defense contractors aren't using made in China components. An equipment failure during a national threat situation would seriously compromise our national defense. On the other hand, in a Chinese offensive and they're using the same components in their fighter jets, bombers or whatever such a component snafu during a mission critical operation would doom that particular weapon's effectiveness.Just a thought.Update: 10/27/2023 - Unit started to die two days ago. It's been 3 years, which i suppose is okay for a Made in China item– whatever happend to UL ratings?. Anyway, it has been powering a 10' LED strip light which has been 'ON' every day for the past three years, so perhaps I shouldn't be so critical. OTH I have a 20 year old Toyota that with regular maintenance, still runs like it did when it came off the factory floor.

Great Cord to replace a broken cord for my plant lights
I have a few plant lights to keep my plants happy during the winters! When they stopped working, I replaced them and hooked the new ones to the old cord.... guess what? They didn't work either, so I attached their cords to the old lights and they worked! The lights were not bad, the cords were bad! So I needed new cords for the old lights, and this one works perfectly. So now I have extra cords and several extra lights. Cords are a heck of a lot cheaper than the lights are! I'm very pleased.

Worked for 11 Months, made a zapping noise when plugged in and burning smell followed
UPDATE 10/4/2023: Bought another back in January, 2023 and this one broke as well. Doesn't seem to last a year. At the time of my January review, the company reached out to me and asked if there was anything they could do. I already ordered a new adapter by the time they responded and asked if they could refund me my order since it exploded on me. They did not respond. The one that broke on Oct 3rd, 2023 did not explode but just stopped working. Needed to buy a new one ASAP so that my girlfriend can use her makeup mirror. Hopefully this one lasts longer.January 13, 2023: I had this for adapter for 11 months. I’ve been using it for a Hollywood styled make up mirror. I was very happy with it’s performance and the length of the cable for my setup. The adapter worked well up until recently.I had been rearranging some cords around my desk when the mirror the adapter was hooked up to began to flicker like a strobe light. I did some trouble shooting to determine if it was the cable or the mirror malfunctioning. When I didn’t touch the square, ribbed area of the cord coming out of the unit, the mirror lights worked fine. When moving it slightly, a metal clipping noise can be heard (and felt) and the mirror lights began to flicker again. Trying to move the cable around and the ribbed area didn’t fix the lights while they were strobe-like; I had to unplug the adapter and replug it back it to test it more.I speculated if the wiring to the circuit board was knocked loose. This unit doesn’t come with screws so opening it up isn’t easy. While still troubleshooting, I tried plugging it into a different outlet. When I plugged it into the mirror, I heard a subtle “zap” noise and could smell plastic burning. I freaked out and turned off the outlet from my breaker box before approaching it. I threw it away because it was making my house smell bad. I tried searching for a way to contact the company to see if they’d send me a new one for free but I couldn’t find anything. Amazon makes it pretty difficult to contact sellers unless it’s from a fairly recent order.I’d say this might be one of those “you get what you paid for” moments. It was a cheap adapter for a small amount of usage. I’d expect a cord like this to last a lifetime with proper care which it was given. The construction of the housing could use some work along with accessibility to the components. I guess it would make sense for a cheap product to never be opened and only closed once manufactured. It was working fine up until recently and I was hoping I wouldn’t have to make a yearly $10 purchase to keep my make mirror functional.
