ESEE4 Molded Sheath with Clip Plate

So this sheath does have an advantage over kydex in that it can withstand hot summer day inside a closed car without softening. But it has a few downsides. The material is a soft plastic that is easy to scratch if it comes into contact with hard objects in your pack or on your belt. And the locking "nubs" inside the sheath will rub off some plastic onto both G10 and micarta scales. I was able to easily scrub this off the G10 scales with a toothbrush, but the micarta is a bit harder to clean of these marks.That's not really a big deal if you are actually using the knife hard, since minor scuffs and scratches are going to occur no matter what if you are actually using the knife. But it definitely makes them look shabby.Given that ESEE knives are offered in a bunch of blade and handle color combinations, it's a fair assumption that there are collectors buying them just to look pretty. If that describes you, get the kydex sheath instead. if you're just going to head out into the woods and cut tent pegs and rope and make fires with your knives, this sheath will work.As for the construction, I noticed that some of the rivets on the back side of the sheath were set unevenly, leaving a sharp brass edge that could snag on clothing or cordage. These were covered up by mounting the belt clip, but I think the rivets they use should probably be about a mm longer so they can turn on the rivet anvil and make a nicer finished rivet with more holding power.

I was really unaware this esee 4 didn't come with a sheath. I am disappointed that I had to pay a lot for this sheath. And I was contacted by the seller that another sheath, I mistakenly ordered and really don't need will come with a restocking fee.
