Leviton Combo Switch and Receptacle, 109-05225-WSP, White

I used the switch to turn the outlet on and off and it worked perfectly without modification.

Leviton quality. Installed on my furnace so I could unplug and then plug directly into a portable power station or generator during power outage

I installed a new electrical box to connect to my video doorbell. This switched outlet was the perfect item to use in my application. I can now turn on and off the doorbell charger.

Exactly what I was looking for. Using the switch to turn on furnace and the plug for instant water heater installed near furnace

Great Combo switch. Instructions were better than most for such items. Fairly easy to install. For light switch with outlet independent operation: Hot black wire goes to top black screw (I found it by using a circuit sniffer); second black wire which is not hot unless the switch is on, goes to the brass screw, ground goes to green screw, and neutral goes to silver. At my switch I needed two wires as the ground was pig-tailed by a wire nut, and the neutral was pig-tailed by a wire nut, just add a neutral wire and a ground wire to their respective pig-tails. After installation I checked that it turned light on and off. And that the outlet worked. Then with a plug type circuit tester it showed correct wiring. I suggest buying a combo set of testers; pen type sniffer, plug circuit tester, and volt meter. Saved me from being electrocuted many times. This type switch cannot be used if their is not 2 black wires, a white neutral, and a ground.

This item was very handy when remodeling a pantry. I wanted to include a charging station for various items and this combo light switch/outlet allowed for power to be included without major wiring changes.

This product is a little harder to install than I originally thought. It supports a couple of different scenarios e.g single switch and double throw. I used a YouTube video to figure out the install but I’m not sure this is for the electrically illiterate. Probably worth getting it professionally installed if your in any doubt
