No, these are ink stamps which are waterbased so for matt cardboard and paper based products, nothing which has a shine will take the ink and they will smudge.

Very pleased with this. Arrived the day after I ordered it and was so good. I'd just bought a lot of new books for my class and wanted to stamp them to say that they were mine. Ink dries very quickly which is a plus as I didn't have the space to have books lying around open.
