Its a little pricey but well made, easy to use, and strong enough to hold pieces out a ways.
Its a little pricey but well made, easy to use, and strong enough to hold pieces out a ways. Changing jaws is easy but cost of the chuch and each of the jaw sets is a little high.

Ease of use!!!!
We love this!!!! Changing everything is fast and easy.... I expect this is going to cost me a lot of money in the end because it has a lot of good accessories. It comes with extra springs. It holds the project tight and even the big easy jaws work awesome. I am not sorry I bought this at all. So far it is the best system we have invested in for quality and ease of use.

Quick release works great. Great for hobbiest who change workpieces and projects all the time.
At first, I was a little worried that this chuck does not seem to be as big as something like the Oneway Stronghold, which is in a similar price range and my second place pick. However, it has served my needs well, and I find that the convenience of easily switching jaws far outweighs extra strength that may or may not be needed. If I had something bigger than the 3520B, I might reconsider. But so far its worked great. Manual ring for tightening is a little tight, which is not a big deal to me. The worm screw is higher quality than the one that comes with other chucks. If Oneway had quick release jaws...I might reconsider. Easy Wood Tools seems pricey to me. But they also have great service. Its nice to be able to call a company and talk to a person.

Wonderful design!
I bought the EWT chuck, and four additional sets of jaws to replace my old G3, after buying a larger lathe. What a difference! Expensive, but if you appreciate quality tools like I do, this is the chuck for you! This thing is a joy to use!

The finish of this chuck is nice and changing jaws very fast and simple
This chuck is the smallest chuck I have for my lathe and the travel of the jaws very limited. The solid boy of this chuck created some issues at first (had to return one chuck) because its machined so tightly and would not register correctly to the back. There was no way to adjust this (because its solid body) and replacement was the only option. The second chuck did not want to register correctly either, but was very close. After tightening it a couple times very hard, it registered correctly though and it now has less than 0,0005" run out (like my HTC and Oneway chucks). I cannot tell if the solid body has any advantages over the inserts on my other chucks, I think the inserts have the advantage to adjust and eliminate any run out. The finish of this chuck is nice and changing jaws very fast and simple. The ring to adjust the jaws quickly is ok, but you still need the wrench to tighten the jaws properly. So I don't really see an advantage in this feature. The jaws have much more play in the chuck than any of my other chucks, it almost appears like a sloppy fit. Which shouldn't be on a chuck at this price range. After all, I only use this chuck for finishing projects with the 16" jumbo jaws plus the add-on plates to 18". This chuck has a very steep price tag and the only reason I bought it was the availability of 18" big jaws.

Most operator friendly chuck.
I recently graduated from a midi lathe to a big Powermatic unit for which I bought this. I hated changing jaws via screws on my former chuck, which also required dual tightening bars, a major pain. I do have concerns about the longevity of the little spring loaded jaw securing studs. They did send spare springs.
