HooToo USB C Hub, 6-in-1 USB C Adapter (2019 Upgrade) with Power Delivery, 4K HDMI, 3 USB 3.0 for MacBook/Pro/Air and Type C Windows Laptops(Silver)

UPDATE 2/2019:Vendor reached out to me to verify my issues and sent me an updated unit. The updated unit works great, I get full USB 3.0 speed through the USB ports and full gigabit speed through the ethernet port. Updated rating to 5 stars for both a good product and great customer service. Thanks!!-----I use this for my 15" 2019 Macbook Pro at my home workstation. My plan was to have everything connected to the HooToo to dock/undock from my desk. (Power, HDMI to my external monitor, USB for keyboard/mouse, and USB -> Gigabit Ethernet adapter.)The problem arose with my SIIG USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet adapter. When connected to the HooToo, it drops about 50% of the packets on the RX side (but can maintain 970Mb/s on the TX side, weird). It's intermittent but bad enough that it will cause Zoom videoconferences to freeze and ssh terminal sessions to occasionally time out.When I disconnected the SIIG from the HooToo and connected it directly to the Mac (with a basic USB 3 -> USB C OTG cable) I suddenly had 970Mb/s tx & rx with no errors.I reproduced this several times to be sure. The SIIG Gigabit Ethernet Adapter is not reliable when connected via the HooToo, but works fine when connected directly to the Mac. To be sure, I'm not 100% sure where the problem lies, and I haven't tried any other gigabit ethernet adapters on the HooToo (as this is the only one I have handy.)

Bought this in last May and have been working ok, but just Feb last month the USB-C power outlet start dysfunctioning w/ frequent stops on the power supply. I have to directly plug in my Macbook Pro power cord to another USB-C port to avoid this issue. Not a big deal no, but it tells me how flimsy the power-management chip inside it's used. Avoid this namebrand as it's using 3-tier foundry suppliers I believe.

Just got a new macbook pro for work, and was not excited about carrying around 742198749821 dongles with me to connect everything. This little hub is great so far. I can charge my laptop, plug in hard drives, a display, sd card, and I still have one more usb-c port on my laptop if I *really* need to plug in an ethernet adapter. It's super lightweight (probably due to the thinner metal casing--gives me some pause about durability), but the cable is thick and seems sturdy. And while it's not shown in the pictures, the bottom is a textured rubber that keeps the hub from sliding around. We'll see how it holds up on my next couple of business trips. So far so good!

This was not compatible with my Mac laptop. I waited past 30 days so didn’t get my money back. Expensive lesson to read the fine print.

The hub works great. The build quality is very good. No issues so far. I purchased based from feedback from a family member that has the same hub.The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the LED logo on top of the hub. HooToo, why did you do this? I covered the LED/logo with electrical tape, which is ridiculous. It's too bright.

I use it for connecting my Macbook Pro to the Dekstop screen. I have been using all the ports except one extra USB C, it has performed very well in those. Definitely will buy another one if need be.

This adapter did does everything I needed it for. The power input is a great plus that I really enjoy having. I run multiple monitors so using this power delivery saves me a port on my computer as well as keeping it "all in one." The adapter does not heat up at all. The lit up Hootoo logo is nice touch. I will definitely buy from Hootoo again.

The hub is great quality build. works great. I have been using it for the past few days with different setups and it works like a charm. The only thing I would suggest is adding another USB C port to the hub. But nonetheless two thumbs up for it.
