Sennheiser Professional E 835 Dynamic Cardioid Vocal Microphone

Great mic!

I've been in bands and around music since 1986 and recently bought this mike for my daughter who's doing live performances and home recording as well. I was blown away at the high quality of this piece - it's built like you'd expect something German to be built, and it feels like it should last forever with just reasonable care. The sound clarity is amazing, it is extremely sensitive, and there's no buzz or hum whatsoever in the unit we received - honestly, one of the clearest microphones I think I've ever handled. On the weird side, bought this through Amazon, and it was delivered simply in the little zipper bag designed to carry it, inside the standard Amazon brown box - no retail packaging or directions whatsoever. I rather get the feeling this mike was part of a bulk buy and they took a bunch of them out of one large box and just shipped them in their self-contained "gig bags." It was well-wrapped in bubble wrap, but it just struck me as odd that it didn't come in a factory box with any directions or warranty cards or anything of that nature. The microphone itself, however, is better than anything I've seen from Shure, Audix, or anyone else for that matter. HIGHLY recommend this one.

This is a great responding microphone, I have been putting it to severe testing for about three months. I have been playing with this stuff for about 15 years, so I have developed kind of a good ear for audio. In my opinion this microphone is absolutely no muddy. For me it's got a great response of the audio spectrum. In vocal mode, I have singed normal, loud and louder and it feels like it has a deep response, like if someone was pulling the mic back so that it does the vocals don't hit the bottom. in other words, this type of quality mic, will be able to handle louder volumes and louder sinnging, with out a popin sound and feeling like when you sing without a microphone. I also used it to microphone a set of hometheater front speaker and it sounded great on my powered PA loudspeaker, which means this is a very dynamic and good for bunch of things microphone, since it's good for both vocals and instrument or electric guitar amp microphone. Looks well made, , high quality build (made in Germany), sturdy looking. The sound quality is similar to a cheaper Chinese dynamic mic called Fifine K688. It is quite good and not surprising it is a legend. While dynamic and largely avoids ambient noise, you do need a good amount of gain to make this work. Also, mine arrived looking used and possibly incorrectly sold as new.

compared to the xm8500 this is much better doesn't get boomy and distort when close talking on the ham radio I know 5 times the price but worth it to me I run it through protools EQ Gate and Limiter with a Pureformer transformer and Mbox mini on the vhf uhf radio but on the hf radio directly into the radio with a little EQ adjustments in menu and little gain sounds great ,I have not tried the sm58 but I bet they are close ,I have heard the sm58 changed the quality in the last 5 years so im not taking a chance, I do have the foam on it because if I close talk, it cuts back on air puffs but not needed there is foam on the inside of the grill and the element is on a shock absorber and is very directional to the top so it doesn't pick up unwanted sounds unless they are in the top direction,so if you want a crisp natural sounding microphone this is it

Excelente, MICRÓFONO SHENHEISER ORIGINAL en su caja original, con el sello que lo garantiza y con su garantía al día. He podido probarlo en ensayos y en un par de conciertos, tanto al aire libre como en sala y rinde estupendamente. Diría que mantiene tu tono de voz original pero tiende a realzar los graves un poco... ideal si tu voz es algo aguda como la mía. Esta a la altura de shure sin duda en cuanto a calidad precio, aunque a mí me gusta más en comparación la solidez que presta SHENHEISER y sobretodo ese leve brillo de gravedad.
