Great Read
As a grandparent with a grandson on the spectrum, I know what it's like to be gripped with fear as someone you know slips away. Your book is a fresh look at the joys and sorrows of raising a child on the spectrum. I highly recommend this book.

Poignant
I loved this book written by a mother about her beautiful boy Jack. Carrie did such an excellent job of teaching and loving Jack just as she did her four other children. Due to that sameness, Jack grew up expecting all the same things in life and learned to work hard for each new milestone. Just a great success story for all of the Cariello family.

Definitely enjoyed the personal and candid look at autism through the eyes of Carrie Cariello's family. I could relate some of my former students to her situations. For a very human look at a perplexing human condition, I would definitely recommend this read.

an interesting anecdotal book
I choose this book because I have an interest in how people with autism learn to function in the real world. I feel that many people see the world in different ways and the more we understand the different ways the more we can be supportive and empathetic to others. I enjoyed the book's style of writing, very easy to read. I appreciated that the author came early to an acceptance of how life with Jack would always present challenges but that that didn't mean life would be bad, just different than her original expectations. I admire her courage and a little to love.

Insightful, helpful, amazing
Incredible insight into Jack, and in particular into autism. Helps me with understanding our own situation a little better. A must read for anyone with an ASD child in their family or who works with or knows young people on the autistic spectrum.
