Love these so much all 3 of my dogs have time!! Granted, they don’t wear a collar most of the time in our gated yard and one of my dogs usually wears his leather collar if we’re going out for a ride or to a dog friendly store, but he’s a bit older than the 2 “puppies” (1 & 2 y/o) and doesn’t participate in their wrestling “shenanigans.” I’ve read one too many stories about dogs almost suffocating while wearing a “regular collar” — getting tangled together or onto a fence and the horrifying images burned into peoples minds as they frantically try to free their dog of the collar. It does take practice to remember when hooking a leash to the collar that it must hook to 2 metal loops, as opposed to one, otherwise they “break free” as soon as they give a good tug in the leash!As you see, this isn’t the most “fashionable” collar, so if you want something a little more personalized and have a dog/dogs who maybe don’t play together, or stay in the house most of the time and are watched at all times in the yard, perhaps this item isn’t for you.

I have a puppy that yanks on everyone's collar. She got hooked up with her sister several months ago and almost killed her. This gives me great piece of mind because it does exactly what is meant to do. Warning: if you are walking your dog you need to put the leash on both loops and if you have to pull your dog by the collar for some reason it will come apart. Great quality as well

After an incident where two of our pups got caught on eachothers collars, we made the switch to these collars and feel much safer! Our two pups rough house and if any tension is applied this has popped off efficiently.

We needed something to keep our dogs from moving around a lot when we did a meet and greet of a rescue dog. We used these. They held them in place.

I was initially very disappointed in this purchase. Was bought for my 11 week old rottweiler pup. Call me paranoid, but I don't want to risk her strangling herself with a collar. At the same time, she needs to get used to wearing a "necklace" so she can be leash trained. I was sure this was the solution.I couldn't make it pop open by hand. I'm not exaggerating when I say I pulled HARD with both hands to try to make it break away. I eventually hooked it over my foot and pulled, that made it pop. But there was no way I was putting that on my pup. Just as reassurance that it's not a weakness issue, I can hold back my six year old male rottweiler with a leash when he sees a rabbit.My husband found it in the trash. After he pulled it apart, yes he could make it open, he agreed that it wasn't safe. He used a rotary tool to grind some of the plastic away. It now pops open with (my best guess) about 8-10 pounds of pressure.Zena is now the new owner of a bright red collar. She currently hates it, not gonna lie, but she hasn't been able to scratch it off, yet. For those that worry, yes it's removed at night until she decides to accept it. Hopefully soon, I will be able to start her leash training.I'm very confused over why a break away collar would be made to be that difficult to actually break away. Benefit of the doubt, maybe I got a defect. If you have the ability to grind/sand the end to loosen it, then I recommend taking the chance. Keeping my pup safe is worth it. But be sure to test it before use.I ultimately gave it four stars because I don't have the knowledge or skills to make my own and it was relatively easy to fix. But I couldn't, in all fairness, give a full five stars.

Happy to report the breakaway collar, broke away. Got this after my dog almost killed my other dog by getting her jaw stuck in the collar and cutting off my other dogs airway. Literally the only breakaway dog collar I could find on Amazon. Was a bit worried because it didn't seem to break away easy but seeing the collar break away as intended, puts my mind at ease. Just wish they had a better collar selection

I worry about outside dog, but worry no more this collar does exactly what it says and fast to get off right before dogs play too

Glad we were able to find something like this. My dog is clumsy and isn’t very aware of their leash when walking so this was a need in case of an emergency. It’s lasted us a few months so the quality is nice, doesn’t make too much noise, either. We have had a few instances where there was tension on the collar and it snapped off very easily and quickly. My dog and I are very happy with it!

Busqué este tipo de collar por todos lados y solo lo encontré en Amazon. Tengo dos perros que se la pasan jugando y se jalan del collar a cada rato, ya hace tiempo había visto que muchos se llegan a atorar y al jalar para destrabarse llegan a axfixiar al otro perro o al quedarse solos en casa se atoran de alguna manera y se jalan provocando el mismo resultado. Es un problema mucho más común de lo que se piensa y no entiendo como es tan difícil encontrar collares asi.El collar no sólo es muy bonito y de buena calidad, funciona muy bien y tiene un precio excelente. Lo recomiendo muchísimo! Las tallas recomendadas por el vendedor inicialmente me parecieron chicas pero al ver otros comentarios decidí hacerles caso. En efecto las tallas recomendadas son correctas, no hay necesidad de pedir más grandes.

Works as described but very stressful to have your pup without a collar and lead when it snaps off. Better than the alternative though.

Se supone que es para que el collar pueda liberarse rápido, pero no debería liberarse si el perro se sacude rápido o se rasca el cuello.Nunca le duró puesto más de 1 hora. No le veo ningún sentido un collar de este tipo si tampoco sirve para pasearlo pues los broches son tan débiles que no resisten los jalones.Si tienes un perro que no se mueve, quizá te funcione, pero si tu perro es normal, juega, salta, corre, no sirve para nada.
