Botanical Serigraphs: The Gene Bauer Collection

This book is a rare gem, truly a piece of art. Having been to the Daffodil Garden in Running Springs - several times - and having enjoyed the beautiful display of blooming bulbs, one time with my sister, who was visiting from Germany - it was always a delightful and rare experience.Later, I was heartbroken, when I heard about the Fire and the Bauer's loss of their home.How providential, that Jack Dangermond of the renowned Redlands company ESRI, along with others from his firm, took an interest in Gene Bauer's work, the Serigraphs, a labor of love, spanning over many years. The Serigraphs express Gene Bauer's love for California's native flora and I am so grateful that they were preserved in this fashion, this beautiful book, for many to enjoy. I treasure my copy.

Gene Bauer took chairmanships with California Garden Clubs, Inc. and turned them into pieces of art, exquisite in every detail. The essays about each plant she chose are written with passion as well as expertise. Read it from front to cover - it's fascinating!!!
